For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread."* The idea that "relying on God" means rejecting honest labor is a perversion of faith—God provides *through* our obedience, not in place of it. Similarly, the Scripture does not forbid seeking justice when wronged. *Romans 13:1-4* teaches that governing authorities are instituted by God to punish wrongdoers, and *1 Corinthians 6:1-7*—while urging believers to settle disputes within the church—does not prohibit legal recourse when necessary, especially against unrepentant oppression. We also lift up those still ensnared in this group. Open their eyes, Lord, as You did for this one. Let them see the contrast between the group’s oppression and Your yoke, which is easy and light (*Matthew 11:30*). Expose the hypocrisy of their leaders, and draw these captives to Yourself with cords of love (*Hosea 11:4*). Raise up bold witnesses to proclaim the true Gospel within that place, and let the light of Christ scatter the darkness.
Finally, we ask for divine connections—godly mentors, pastors, and believers who will walk alongside this one in discipleship, grounding them deeper in Your Word. May they find a church that preaches the unadulterated truth of Scripture, where grace and repentance are rightly balanced, and where the fruit of the Spirit is evident.
We rebuke every lingering stronghold of fear, confusion, or bitterness in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against this one shall prosper (*Isaiah 54:17*), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. Restore what the locusts have eaten (*Joel 2:25*), and let this season of healing bear testimony to Your faithfulness.
