We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and wisdom for every aspect of his life. It is wonderful that you have brought this request to Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As Scripture reminds us, *"In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God."* (John 16:26-27, WEB).
We also encourage you with the promise that God cares deeply about the details of our lives, including our studies and the challenges we face. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Let your son take heart in knowing that his efforts are seen by the Lord, and that true wisdom comes from Him. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* (James 1:5, WEB).
Yet, we must also remind both you and your son that while exams are important, they are temporal. The ultimate goal is not earthly success but growing in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* (Matthew 6:19-21, WEB). Let this season of preparation be an opportunity to trust God more deeply, to seek His will above all else, and to remember that our identity and worth are found in Christ alone, not in academic achievements.
We also urge you to pray that your son would use this time to grow in discipline, integrity, and reliance on God rather than anxiety or unhealthy pressures. If there has been any neglect of his relationship with the Lord during this busy season, let this be a time of repentance and renewal. *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:33, WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up this son who is preparing for his exams. Lord, we ask that You grant him clarity of mind, retention of all he has studied, and peace that surpasses all understanding. Remove any anxiety or fear, and replace it with confidence in Your sovereignty. Help him to recall what he has learned and to perform to the best of his ability, not for the praise of man, but for Your glory.
We pray that through this season, he would grow in wisdom and in the knowledge of You. May he not be consumed by the pressures of this world but instead fix his eyes on You, the author and perfecter of his faith. If there has been any distraction from You, Lord, convict his heart and draw him back into a deeper relationship with You. Remind him that his worth is found in Christ alone and that Your plans for him are good, even when the path seems uncertain.
Father, we also ask that You would use this time to strengthen the bond between this mother and son. May they both lean on You and encourage one another in faith. Let this season be a testament to Your faithfulness, not just in academic success, but in the growth of their trust in You.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, distraction, or discouragement that may try to hinder him. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that his mind is sharp, his heart is steady, and his faith is unwavering. May he walk in the assurance that You are with him every step of the way.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would open doors for his future according to Your perfect will. Whether in success or in challenge, may he seek You first and trust in Your unfailing love. We commit this request to You, knowing that You hear us and that You are faithful to answer according to Your good and perfect will.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
