We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family to our Heavenly Father. First, we want to acknowledge the deep love this mother has for her daughters—her desire to spare them from struggle and provide for their future is a reflection of God’s own heart for His children. We see the faithfulness in her prayers, and we join with her in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for her daughter.
Father God, we thank You for this work opportunity that has come before this young woman. We recognize that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we ask that You would reveal Your purpose in this situation. Lord, we pray for wisdom and clarity for both mother and daughter. Give them discernment to understand Your will, for Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* We ask that You would soften this daughter’s heart to see the opportunity You have placed before her, not just as a job, but as a stepping stone in the plan You have for her life.
We also lift up the struggles this single mother has faced. Lord, You are the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of widows (Psalm 68:5). We ask that You would provide for her needs and give her strength as she continues to raise her daughters in the ways of the Lord. May she find rest in Your promises, knowing that You are her Provider and that her labor in You is never in vain.
However, we must also address the importance of honoring parents, as Your Word commands in Ephesians 6:1-3, *"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with a promise: ‘that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.’"* We pray that this daughter would seek godly counsel, not only from her mother but also from trusted spiritual mentors, to help her discern the path ahead. Rebellion and stubbornness can lead to unnecessary hardship, and we ask that You would guard her heart from pride or fear that might be influencing her decision.
Lord, if there is fear holding her back—fear of the unknown, fear of failure, or even fear of stepping into the calling You have for her—we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. For Your Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We declare that she is equipped with everything she needs to walk in the purpose You have for her.
We also pray for unity in this family. May their home be a place of peace, where decisions are made with humility and love, rather than strife or division. Help this mother to guide her daughter with grace and patience, and help the daughter to respect and honor her mother’s wisdom.
Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. Whether this job is part of Your plan or not, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We surrender this family into Your hands, asking that You would lead them into the path of Your perfect will.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
