We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage and family in desperate need of His healing and restoration. Father, we cry out for ###, that the chains of addiction would be broken in his life by the power of Your Holy Spirit. The Word declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Lord, we claim this promise over ###—let the old life of bondage pass away and make him new in You.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name, for Your Word says in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We stand on this truth, believing that freedom is not only possible but promised to those who turn to You. Father, draw ### back to You with cords of love, soften his heart, and let him experience the depth of Your grace and mercy. Surround him with godly men who will walk alongside him, encourage him in the faith, and hold him accountable.
We also lift up his wife and children, who have endured so much pain and uncertainty. Lord, heal their hearts, restore their trust, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their marriage according to Your design—a covenant between one man and one woman, built on love, faithfulness, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22-33). Let this family be a testimony of Your redeeming power, a light in the darkness to others who are struggling.
Father, we ask that You would break every generational curse of addiction in this family line. Your Word says in Exodus 20:5-6 that You visit the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation, but You show loving kindness to thousands of those who love You and keep Your commandments. We plead the blood of Jesus over this family, declaring that the cycle of sin stops here. Raise up this husband and father to be the spiritual leader of his home, walking in purity, integrity, and devotion to You.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for this wife as she navigates this difficult season. Give her the strength to set godly boundaries, the courage to extend grace, and the faith to believe in Your promises. Help her to guard her heart (Proverbs 4:23) and to seek You above all else. Remind her that her worth is found in You alone, not in the actions or choices of her husband.
We also pray for divine intervention in ###’s life—open doors for rehabilitation, godly counsel, and a community of believers who will support his recovery. Let him experience the truth of Psalm 34:18-19: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."
Father, we ask that You would ignite a passion for You in ###’s heart. Let him hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6) and find his identity in Christ alone. May he turn away from every sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1) and run the race set before him with endurance. We declare that his past does not define him—his future is secure in You.
Lord, reunite this family under Your lordship. Let their home be filled with Your presence, their conversations seasoned with grace, and their love for one another a reflection of Your love for the Church. We pray that this marriage would not only survive but thrive, becoming a beacon of hope to others who are walking through similar struggles.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are working even now to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). May this family one day stand before others and declare, "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad!" (Psalm 126:3). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
