We come before the Lord with this request, seeking His perfect will in the relationships mentioned. Father God, we know that Your plans for us are good, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You would guide these individuals in their relationships, whether that means bringing them to an end or allowing them to progress according to Your divine purpose.
Lord, we pray that any relationship not aligned with Your will would come to a close. If there is any ungodliness, dishonesty, or sin—such as fornication, adultery, or any other form of immorality—we ask that You would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. Your Word is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18). If these relationships are not founded on Christ or are leading them away from You, we ask that You would break any ungodly bonds and set them free.
If it is Your will for these relationships to progress, we pray that they would be built on the foundation of Christ, with both individuals seeking to honor You in all things. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, as You designed from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). We pray that if these relationships are moving toward marriage, they would be rooted in faith, love, and mutual submission to You. *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).
Father, we also lift up the hearts of these individuals. If they are seeking companionship, let them seek it in a way that honors You—through godly courtship with the intention of marriage to a fellow believer. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). We pray that they would not settle for anything less than Your best for them.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, lust, or rebellion that may be influencing these relationships. We declare that Your will be done, not our own. Give them wisdom, discernment, and the courage to walk away from anything that does not align with Your Word. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come to You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, there is no access to the Father, no forgiveness of sins, and no eternal life. If either of these individuals does not know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would surrender their lives to Christ today. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16).
May Your will be done in their lives, and may they find their ultimate fulfillment in You alone. We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for their good, as they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
