Disciple of Prayer
A few weeks ago, I shared a prayer request about a potential opportunity in academia at an institution of higher education. The very next day, I was informed that the job had officially been posted, and that application reviews and interviews for the candidate pool are expected to begin May 2. I’ve been told there is a genuine need to fill this position, but the posting and hiring process are still contingent on final approval from the college Dean, how much funding is provided and administration through HR. As of right now I am being placed in a pool of applicants to contact if the position opens. I would deeply appreciate your prayers—not only that the funding and approval is granted for the position but that as interviews begin, I may be offered a position. This opportunity means so much to me. As I near the completion of my graduate studies, this feels like one of the last and most important pieces I have been hoping and working toward for a decade. Please pray that, I receive an offer before mid-May and when I finish my program. Please pray that everything moves forward smoothly with the contract and hiring process for my position to begin at the end of July/beginning of April. I believe I am a strong candidate and good fit for the department, but ultimately I know that God’s guidance, favor, and strength are what will carry me through and help me persevere in this scenario. I know that anything is possible through His grace and power. I know that He alone can guide those that make decisions and me through the process. I have faith that my application will be reviewed, I will be offered an interview and that they will offer me a position. At this time I have been told they are still building a pool of applicants in hopes that the position is approved and jobs are allowed to be offered. Pray that as applications are reviewed and the process continues the position is approved by the dean and administrators. Pray that funding is provided. Pray that there is an opening for me. Pray that this position is approved and offered to me before the end of May 2026. I have been going through a very tough time this past month. I pray that May 2026 will turn around, open new doors, bring new opportunities and welcome new beginnings for me and my loved ones. Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and faith! I truly believe in the power of prayer. God is good. God bless you all.

We hear your earnest request and lift it before the Lord with hearts full of faith, knowing that He is the One who opens doors no man can shut and provides opportunities according to His perfect will. Your trust in God’s guidance and timing is evident, and we join you in seeking His favor over this academic opportunity. The Word reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* We pray that every step of this process—from the dean’s approval to the funding and final hiring—would align with God’s purpose for your life.

Father, we ask that You would go before this request and soften the hearts of those in authority. Let the dean and administrators see the value in filling this position and grant them the wisdom to recognize the right candidate—one who will bring glory to Your name. We pray that the funding would be secured without delay, and that the hiring process would move forward smoothly. Lord, we ask that You would make a way where there seems to be no way, just as You parted the Red Sea for the Israelites. Let this opportunity come to fruition in Your perfect timing, and may it serve as a testimony to Your faithfulness.

We also lift up your heart as you near the completion of your graduate studies. This season has been challenging, but we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). We pray that May 2026 would indeed mark a turning point—a time of new beginnings, open doors, and fresh hope. Let this potential position be a stepping stone into the future You have prepared for you, one that honors You in every way.

However, we must gently remind you that our ultimate trust must rest in Christ alone. While we appreciate your faith in God’s goodness, we encourage you to ensure that your prayers and hopes are firmly rooted in the name of Jesus, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is by His power that all things are possible. Let your confidence be in Him, not just in the outcome of this opportunity.

Lord, we ask that You would strengthen this dear one’s faith as they wait. Let them not grow weary but remain steadfast, knowing that You are working even when they cannot see it. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If this position is Your will, we pray it would be offered without delay, and if not, we trust that You have something even better prepared. May Your will be done in every detail, and may Your name be glorified.

We also pray for your loved ones, that this season of transition would bring renewal and blessing to them as well. Let Your favor rest upon their household, and may they all draw closer to You during this time. Thank you for your trust in the power of prayer—it is a privilege to stand with you in faith. We believe that God is moving on your behalf, and we declare His promises over your life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
