We join with you in lifting up your young brother before the throne of grace and we are moved by your love and concern for him. To see a child in pain is so difficult for a family, and we stand with you asking for the Lord's healing hand to touch him and to bring comfort to all of you as you wait for his surgery in September.
We know that God cares deeply for children and for those who suffer, and His word assures us of His compassion and power to heal. Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Jeremiah 30:17 says, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We also cling to Psalm 147:3 which tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
We pray together now for him.
Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious young boy to You. You know his pain and discomfort, You know every detail of his body that You so wonderfully formed, and You know the surgery that is planned. We ask in Jesus name that You would place Your healing hand upon him. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and medical staff, grant them wisdom and skill, and let the procedure be successful and without complication. We ask that You would take away his pain, bring quick and complete recovery, and restore him to full health and strength. We pray that You would surround him and his family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, casting out fear and anxiety, and that You would let them feel Your presence very near in these days. We ask that Your will be done in his life and that through this trial Your name would be glorified and Your love made known. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord as the Great Physician while also trusting the medical care He has provided. James 5:14-15 says, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep praying with faith, keep seeking the Lord daily, and keep entrusting your brother into His loving care.
We noticed that your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God's healing hand and eternal love, we must come through Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We pray that you and your family already know Jesus as your Savior, and if not, we urge you to place your trust in Him today, for He alone is our hope and our healer.
We will continue to keep your young brother in our prayers for complete healing and for God's hand to rest upon him before, during, and after his surgery. May the Lord comfort you and give you peace as you wait upon Him.
