Pray for my Wife

Father, we lift up this beloved wife before You. She has suffered a massive stroke, fought pneumonia, and endured four codes last night—yet by Your grace, she is still here. We ask for Your complete healing upon her body, mind, and spirit. Restore her fully and make her whole again. Give her husband strength, faith, and peace as he stands by her side. We trust that You are the God who raises the dead and restores the broken.

*"I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord."* — **Jeremiah 30:17**

*"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."* — **Isaiah 40:29**

*"The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness."* — **Psalm 41:3**

*"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."* — **Matthew 19:26**

*"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."* — **Psalm 147:3**

God has shown you a great mercy in snatching your wife back from death four times in one night. Do not let this wonder slip past you as a small thing. The Lord who held her life in His hands then is able to raise her up now in body, mind, and spirit. Continue to cry out to Him with boldness, for He is the Physician who heals every infirmity. Do not grow weary or let the flame of zeal be quenched when you leave the hospital room. Rather, take the Scriptures in your hand when you sit beside her, and read them aloud. Let the words of life fill that place, and let your prayers be joined with hers in spirit, even if her tongue is silent.

Remember she is a saint, a believer washed in the blood of Christ, and His own treasured possession. Whether He restores her fully in this present age or calls her to Himself, she is safe in Him. Yet we do not hesitate to ask for healing, for Christ Himself went about curing all manner of sickness, and His power is undiminished. I join my petition with yours: O Lord Jesus, who rebuked the fever and commanded the lame to walk, stretch out Your hand once more. Restore this beloved woman to wholeness, that she may rise and glorify Your name. But in all things, let Your will be done, and grant this husband grace to trust You without wavering. The present suffering is light compared to the eternal weight of glory being prepared for those who love You. Keep your eyes fixed on that day when every tear will be wiped away, and know that whether in life or death, she is the Lord’s.

Your wife’s body has been through a violent storm, and the fact that she is still here after coding four times tells you something about the grip of God on her life. That kind of assault on a body can feel chaotic and terrifying, but the preserving hand of Jesus was in that room. He commanded the wind and the waves on the sea, and He is commanding the boundaries of your wife’s existence right now. Hold onto that.

Healing is a strange and beautiful thing. We see in the Gospels that Jesus never confined Himself to one method. A word, a touch, a journey, a command, mud on the eyes, a hem of a garment. Sometimes the change crashed in immediately, and sometimes it unfolded as a process. A gradual healing is no less the work of God than an instantaneous one. The body itself, with all its intricate processes of repair, declares the wisdom of a Creator who designed it to fight back against what is broken. Even when medicine and time are the instruments, the mending is still His work. Do not discount the quiet, slow, unfolding kind of restoration that may be happening even now.

I do not pretend to understand why some groan under a thorn for years while others leap up from a sickbed. That is a mystery kept in the mind of God, and it is as old as the apostles. There is no simple formula that ties personal fault to suffering, and we must be careful with those who act as if healing is merely a matter of demanding it loudly enough. A lot of what parades as faith today is just a materialistic culture trying to manipulate God. But that does not dim the truth that Jesus bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. That is not just a poetic metaphor for sin; it is a solid, prophetic anchor for the body as well as the soul. When we take the bread at the Lord’s table, we remember a body given for our wholeness, and that wholeness is not limited to the invisible parts of us.

Your prayer is already pressing into that. You asked for healing of her body, mind, and spirit, to be made whole. That is the right target. Sometimes the healing begins in the mind, even while the body lags behind. God can mend the wounds of trauma and fear even when the flesh is still weak. I have known moments where the healing of the spirit came with such force it could be felt as a physical shift, and other times where the soul was knit together so quietly that only later did the change become obvious. Watch for that. Do not look only at the monitors and the charts. Look for the steadying of her spirit.

You are standing in the gap for her right now, just as the friends lowered the paralyzed man through the roof. Your faith is part of this equation, a point of contact reaching for the hem of His garment. Keep asking. Keep trusting. And remember that even when the situation looked too late, when the child was hungry and frightened and the parents had no resource left, it was not too late for Jesus to walk into that house. Your wife is not beyond His reach. He is not bound by time, by sepsis, or by a brain scan. He who healed on the Sabbath, who put compassion above ritual, looks at your wife with the same tender authority He had when He told the crowds not to publicize the miracle but just to live it as a testimony. May her recovery, however it unfolds, become its own quiet testimony to the power of God. Her life, spared through that long night, is already speaking.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious wife during this incredibly difficult time. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted her before the Lord, asking Him to touch her body, mind, and spirit with His healing power. We’ve prayed specifically for strength and restoration, especially after the trauma of her stroke, the battle with pneumonia, and the moments when her life hung in the balance. It is nothing short of a miracle that God spared her, and we continue to trust Him for complete wholeness in every area.

If you’ve seen God move in answer to these prayers—whether through improvement in her condition, moments of peace, or even small signs of progress—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony of God’s faithfulness would be a blessing to all of us as we rejoice with you. If, however, her recovery feels slow or the road ahead still seems uncertain, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to stand with you, lifting her up in prayer until the Lord brings the full healing you’re believing for.

May the Lord surround you both with His peace that surpasses understanding, and may He give you strength for each day as you continue to seek Him. We pray that His presence would be tangibly near, reminding you that He is working even when the answers aren’t yet visible. Keep trusting in His goodness and His perfect timing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
