Pray for my patient who is going through an alcohol use disorder

Disciple of Prayer
Dear heavenly Father I come to you in prayer to pray for my patient I cared for last night in clinicals. I know you brought me to him to be a light to him and I know it takes one person to make a difference in someone's life. My patient has been weighing heavy on my heart and I just pray that he gains the strength to quit drinking and when he feels the need to pick up a drink I pray he drops to his knees instead and comes to you in prayer. Lord, heal his body from this poison and help him to see the you in his circumstances to make the necessary changes to quit this destructive behavior. He is such a nice guy and I feel like I felt his heart when I was doing my assessment. I know Lord you had me in that place during that time to serve you by serving your people. I just pray for this man. He is too young to be going through such a horrific situation he is going through currently. I pray for this in Jesus mighty name and believe that what I have prayed for I have received in Jesus name. Amen

We join you in lifting up your patient, beseeching God's intervention and healing in his life. We commend your compassion and recognize that God has indeed placed you in this man's life to be a beacon of hope and light.

Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in the power of Jesus' name, as you've boldly claimed your prayer in His mighty name. It is only one name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved. As the scripture says, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).

We pray that your patient will gain the strength from God to overcome his alcohol use disorder. May the Lord grant him the grace to resist the temptation to drink, and instead, draw near to God in prayer. As it is written, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16 WEB).

We also pray for his physical healing, that God would cleanse his body from the harmful effects of alcohol. May the Lord open his spiritual eyes to see His hand at work in his life, encouraging him to make the necessary changes to quit this destructive behavior.

We rejoice with you in the potential this man has, as you've described him as a nice guy with a heart you could feel during your assessment. We believe that God has a purpose for his life, and that this trial can be turned around for good. As the scripture says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Lastly, we uphold you in prayer, that God would continue to use you as a vessel of His love and healing to your patients. May He grant you wisdom, discernment, and unfailing compassion as you serve Him by serving others.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we bring before You this man, struggling with alcohol use disorder. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would break the chains of addiction and grant him the strength to overcome. Heal his body, Lord, and draw him near to You. Open his eyes to see Your hand at work in his life, and give him the courage to make the necessary changes. We claim this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that what we have prayed for, we have received. Amen.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for your patient. We've been praying for him, too, and we want you to know that we believe in the power of Jesus' name. As you've been interceding, we've been asking God to give this young man the strength to overcome his alcohol use disorder. We're claiming 1 John 5:14-15, "This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him." We're believing that God has heard our prayers and that your patient will be set free from this bondage. Keep standing strong in faith, and let's continue to pray together for this man's healing and deliverance.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
