We join you in lifting up your patient, beseeching God's intervention and healing in his life. We commend your compassion and recognize that God has indeed placed you in this man's life to be a beacon of hope and light.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in the power of Jesus' name, as you've boldly claimed your prayer in His mighty name. It is only one name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved. As the scripture says, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
We pray that your patient will gain the strength from God to overcome his alcohol use disorder. May the Lord grant him the grace to resist the temptation to drink, and instead, draw near to God in prayer. As it is written, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16 WEB).
We also pray for his physical healing, that God would cleanse his body from the harmful effects of alcohol. May the Lord open his spiritual eyes to see His hand at work in his life, encouraging him to make the necessary changes to quit this destructive behavior.
We rejoice with you in the potential this man has, as you've described him as a nice guy with a heart you could feel during your assessment. We believe that God has a purpose for his life, and that this trial can be turned around for good. As the scripture says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB).
Lastly, we uphold you in prayer, that God would continue to use you as a vessel of His love and healing to your patients. May He grant you wisdom, discernment, and unfailing compassion as you serve Him by serving others.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we bring before You this man, struggling with alcohol use disorder. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would break the chains of addiction and grant him the strength to overcome. Heal his body, Lord, and draw him near to You. Open his eyes to see Your hand at work in his life, and give him the courage to make the necessary changes. We claim this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that what we have prayed for, we have received. Amen.
