Pray for my kids

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my children: ###, ### and ###. May the Lord bless their academic year, give them wisdom, revelations, protection and provision. May God give them His holiness and pour out His love upon them.

I notice this text is a prayer response that doesn't contain any personal names, locations, or identifying information that needs redaction. The text references biblical figures and scripture passages, which should be preserved. Here is the original text:

We join with you in lifting up your three precious children before the throne of grace and we thank you for entrusting them to the Lord in prayer as they begin this academic year.

We rejoice that you desire for them wisdom, revelation, protection, provision, holiness and love, for these are all gifts our Father delights to give to His children. Scripture reminds us that every good gift and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, James 1:17, and that He cares deeply for the little ones entrusted to us.

We pray together for wisdom and revelation for them, that the Lord would open their minds to learn and their hearts to understand His truth. For the Lord gives wisdom, out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding, Proverbs 2:6, and if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We ask that God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of their hearts enlightened, Ephesians 1:17-18, so they may excel in their studies not for pride but to glorify Him and to be equipped for every good work.

We pray for their protection and provision, for He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways, Psalm 91:11, and The Lord will keep you from all evil, he will keep your soul, Psalm 121:7. We ask the Lord to keep them safe from harm, from evil influences and from discouragement, and to provide for every need they have, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19.

We pray for holiness and love to be poured out upon them, that they may grow not only in knowledge but in Christlikeness. As it is written, Be holy, for I am holy, 1 Peter 1:16, and we desire that they would be set apart for Him, walking in purity and obedience even while young. We pray that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith, to the end that they, being rooted and grounded in love, may be filled with all the fullness of God, Ephesians 3:17-19, and that the love of God has been poured out into their hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us, Romans 5:5.

We encourage you to continue to train them up in the way they should go, Proverbs 22:6, speaking of the Lord's commands diligently to them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, Deuteronomy 6:7, and to cover them daily in prayer. The academic year brings pressures and distractions, but God is faithful to keep and to guide those who seek Him.

We also gently remind you that we have access to the Father only through His Son, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we bring these requests, trusting that as we believe in Him we have confidence before God.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for these three children You have given. We ask You to bless their academic year, anoint their minds with wisdom and understanding, and grant them revelation of Your truth and Your love. Guard them, Lord, in their coming and going, protect them from evil and keep them in health and safety. Provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory. Pour out Your holiness upon them, that they may walk in purity and obedience to You, and pour out Your love into their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, that they may know how deeply they are loved and may love others in return. Draw each of them to Yourself at an early age, that they may put their faith in Jesus and walk with Him all the days of their lives. We entrust them into Your hands and pray Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We love your heart for your children and we are honored to stand with you for them.

Hearing you lift up ###, ###, and ### by name reminds us how faithfully you are carrying them before the Lord. Asking for wisdom, protection, provision and His love to be poured out over their school year is such a beautiful, covering prayer. We join you in that completely.

This time of year can bring a lot of pressure for kids and for parents too. It is encouraging that you are inviting God into the details of their learning, their friendships, and their walk with Him. He delights to hear a parent pray this way and He is near to each of them right where they are.

One small idea that has encouraged other parents is to take a moment this week to ask each child what one thing they would like prayer for at school, whether it is a class, a friendship, or just feeling at peace during the day. Praying for that specific thing by name can help them feel seen and remind them you and the Lord are with them.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift ###, ###, and ### to You. Bless this academic year for each of them, guard them and provide for what they need, give them wisdom and a growing love for what is holy, and pour Your love over their lives in a way they can truly know. Give their parent peace and wisdom as they guide them. Amen.

It is a right and gracious thing to bring your children before the throne of grace, and we join you gladly in lifting up ###, ###, and ### before our heavenly Father.

We pray that the Lord will bless their academic year and be their wisdom therein. True wisdom is not found in the thoughts of man but is the compass by which we steer through life, and its price is above rubies. May the Lord give them that wisdom which begins in the fear of God, maintained as they feed upon His Word and meditate upon revealed truth, that they may walk in the way of understanding and know His will to be always best. May He grant them revelation of Himself in Christ, for in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom, and apart from Him the way of wisdom remains unknown.

We pray also for their protection and provision. Because we are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus we may come boldly unto the throne of grace to obtain mercy and help in time of need. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him, and He bears with us patiently and teaches us to walk as a mother teaches her little ones. May He keep them from evil and supply all their needs according to the riches of His covenant of grace, which is established on sure principles and stands forever.

And we pray with special earnestness for that which you have rightly asked, that God would give them His holiness and pour out His love upon them. Holiness is not mere outward morality which cleans the outside of the cup, but a clean inside, a heart set on God and beating with love to Him. It is practical, personal, vital holiness in thoughts and intents, in purposes and motives. Without holiness no one shall see the Lord, yet it is not a perfection which shuts us out, but a following after Christ in separation from the world and consecration to God. May the Lord work this in them by His Spirit, that they may persevere in holiness and not depart from Him, being kept by that holy fear which He puts in their hearts. And as holiness abounds, so may love abound, for where holiness is lacking, love grows cold. May He pour His love into their hearts, that they may love Him supremely and show bowels of compassion and kindness to others as becomes those who belong to Christ.

We ask the Father to make them His own dear children through faith, to keep them, to teach them, and to cause them to grow in grace, that their lives may be to His glory in this year and in all their days.
