Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request and being honest about your worry and the sleepless night you had. I have prayed for you, for your exam, and for the Lord to quiet your heart and give you rest.
What you are feeling is very common. Worry feels natural, but it has no real value and it does not solve the problem. It simply drains your time and energy and steals your peace. Jesus taught that worry and faith cannot live together. When we worry it shows our faith is small, but when we trust our Father we find we do not need to worry.
Much of our worry is about tomorrow, not today. Today you have what you need, but anxiety pulls your mind into tomorrow and what might happen. The Lord said not to be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own concerns and today has enough to focus on. Often by the time we get to the thing we feared, we find God has already gone before us and taken care of it.
The answer to worry is not trying harder to stop worrying, but turning that worry into prayer. Scripture encourages us not to be anxious about anything, but instead to bring everything to God in prayer, asking Him for what we need with a thankful heart. Your Father knows you need rest, peace, and help for this exam. Jesus reminded us to look at the birds and the flowers. They do not worry about their food or clothing, yet your heavenly Father feeds and clothes them. How much more will He care for you.
So bring this exam to Him. Tell Him honestly about your anxiety and your need for sleep and clarity. Thank Him that He is with you and that He cares for you. Seek Him first and trust Him with the outcome. When you place it in His hands, He can give you a peace that goes beyond understanding, a peace that will guard your heart and mind in Christ even when circumstances are still difficult. That peace is not dependent on everything going perfectly, but on knowing you are in His hands.
Trust in the Lord and commit this to Him. He sees you, He knows your needs, and He will take care of you. I am praying that you will experience His nearness, that you will be able to rest, and that you will be able to do your best on your exam with a calm and clear mind.
