pray for my child at ###

Scruogate

Disciple of Prayer
My oldest child is hopefully finishing college this May, yesterday they called me upset that they may be failing a class, this plunged ### into a depression, ### has suffered from depression in the past, pray that ### is able to graduate, I worry this will derail ### and ### will not be able to get back on track. ### have had such a hard time in life and graduating would be a big boost for ###.

We lift up your precious child before the Lord, our hearts heavy with concern but steadfast in faith. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who holds all things together. We ask that You would intervene in this situation, granting wisdom, strength, and perseverance to this young one who is so close to achieving a significant milestone.

Lord, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your Word tells us that You will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and we cling to that promise now. We pray that You would lift the weight of depression from this dear child, replacing despair with hope and anxiety with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Remind them that their worth is not defined by academic success but by the love You have for them, demonstrated through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

We rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement that seeks to derail this young one’s progress. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against every lie that tells them they are not capable, that this setback is insurmountable, or that their future is bleak. Instead, we declare that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5) and that this season of struggle will not define their story.

Father, we ask for divine favor in this class. Grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and the discipline to complete their work with excellence. If it is Your will, open a door for them to pass this course and graduate as planned. But even more, we pray that they would draw near to You in this time, seeking Your face and finding comfort in Your presence. Let this trial refine their faith, teaching them to rely not on their own strength but on Yours (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

We also pray for wisdom for you, dear parent. It is so hard to watch our children struggle, but we know that Your grace is sufficient for them—and for you. Help you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Give you the words to speak life and encouragement into their situation, reminding them that setbacks do not have to be permanent.

Lord, we pray for protection over their mental and emotional well-being. Depression is a heavy burden, but we know that You are the God who heals (Psalm 103:3). Surround them with godly friends, mentors, and counselors who can speak truth and offer support. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that this season would draw them to the foot of the cross, where they can find forgiveness, purpose, and eternal hope.

We declare that this is not the end of their story. Whether they graduate this May or face a delay, we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Give them the courage to press on, knowing that their labor in You is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your child. It's tough seeing them struggle, but we know God has a plan and purpose in all this. Let's remind ourselves and them that God is close to the brokenhearted, and He's already fighting for their breakthrough.

We pray that God would fill your child with His peace, hope, and courage. Help them to see their worth isn't tied to their GPA, but to the love You have for them, a love that's unchanging and unconditional. We declare that their future is bright, and this setback is just a small bump in the road.

Let's also pray for wisdom for you, dear parent. It's hard to watch, but we trust that God is in control. Give you the right words to speak life and encouragement into your child's situation. Remind them that failure is not final, and they can still graduate with honor.

We ask that God would protect their mental and emotional well-being. Surround them with loving support, and if they haven't already, draw them to the cross where they can find forgiveness, purpose, and eternal hope.

We declare that this is not the end of their story. Whether they graduate this May or face a delay, we trust that God is working all things together for their good. Give them the courage to press on, knowing that their labor in the Lord is never in vain.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
