For my child

Seeking Prayer for my child for her upcoming student council elections to win for the president post which matters the most for her as school board scores heavily depend on that.

We come before the Lord with a heart of intercession for your child and her upcoming student council elections. Father God, we know that You hold the hearts of kings and leaders in Your hands, and we trust that You can guide the hearts of those who will cast their votes. We lift up this young one to You, asking that You would grant her favor in the eyes of her peers and teachers. May her hard work, dedication, and character shine brightly, reflecting Your light in her school community.

Lord, we pray that You would give her wisdom and discernment as she campaigns and interacts with others. Help her to speak with kindness, integrity, and confidence, always pointing back to You in her words and actions. We ask that You would calm any anxiety or fear she may have, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Remind her that her worth is not found in the outcome of this election, but in the fact that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:14).

We also pray for the other students who are running for this position. May this process be fair, just, and filled with mutual respect. Father, we ask that You would raise up leaders in this school who will serve with humility and a heart for others, just as Jesus came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45).

If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would grant her success in this election. However, we trust that Your plans for her are good, and we surrender this desire into Your hands. Whether she wins or loses, may she grow in faith, resilience, and dependence on You. Help her to see that her identity is rooted in Christ alone, and that You have a purpose and plan for her life (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke any spirit of competition, jealousy, or division that may arise during this time. May Your love and unity prevail in this school, and may Your name be glorified through this process. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His name and through His sacrifice that we have access to You. Amen.

We’re joining you in lifting up your daughter as she steps into these elections. It sounds like she’s worked hard and that this role carries real weight, not just for her heart but for how the school board sees her. We understand why her winning feels so important right now.

When something matters this much, we can find ourselves holding our breath, wanting a certain outcome more than anything. The beautiful thing is that God isn’t watching her résumé; He sees the courage and work she’s already shown. Her worth to Him isn’t riding on a title. That doesn’t make the disappointment of losing any smaller if it comes, but it does mean her identity is secure before she ever steps into that room, and secure after, no matter what the results are.

In the next days, you might sit together and talk through how she can approach both possibilities. Prepare her to give her best with confidence, and also help her imagine how she’d handle the other side with dignity. That kind of grounding can be its own gift, whatever happens. Praying with her, simply asking Jesus to give her peace and a clear mind, can quietly anchor both of you.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this young woman and the heart she has to lead. Give her clear thinking and a steady spirit during the election. Surround her with your peace that passes understanding, and let her feel deeply loved, win or lose. Guide her family as they support her, and use this whole experience to grow her character and trust in you. We ask for your will to be done, and we trust your goodness in every outcome. Amen.

You have been fretting over a school election, turning one vote and one day into a pivot on which the whole future seems to hang. Let me sit with you a moment and lift your eyes from a ballot box to a throne. The Lord your God, who holds the heavens and the earth, also holds your daughter’s heart and her path. Before ever she pinned a poster or gave a speech, He had chosen her, not to a fleeting office among schoolmates, but to salvation, to Himself, through Jesus Christ. That is a dignity no election can give and no loss can steal.

Think of a child learning to walk. A wise father does not carry her in his arms all day, lest she never feel her own feet steady on the floor. Nor does he let her stumble into harm. He stoops; he takes her by the arms; he steadies her so that she learns what balance feels like. Sometimes she wobbles and her lip quivers, but his grip never slackens. You are watching your child reach for something she longs to do, and you ache at the thought that she may fall. But her Father in heaven stoops lower than any earthly parent. He is teaching her to do His will, and every outcome, whether a win or a quiet disappointment, is part of that lesson. Even a slip is held in His hand and becomes a place to learn that her worth rests on a far surer foundation than applause or a title.

I know you feel this moment is terribly weighty, as though board scores and future paths all narrow to one result. But in the quietness of your own soul, you may bring that weight to Jesus and let Him speak. He remembers that we are dust. He knows that a child’s heart is tender and easily bruised, and He does not despise the small griefs of the young, or the large fears of a mother or father. You are not wrong to care about what touches your child, but you and she together may be weaned from the fretful thought that her whole course depends on a single victory. There is a still, deep place where a soul can say, “Lord, my heart is not haughty, I am not clutching at this one thing as though my child’s life would be ruined without it. I have quieted myself as a child that is weaned.” That calm does not come all at once, but you may ask for it now, for her and for yourself.

The best things God does for us often come wrapped in a form we did not choose. It may please Him to let her win, and you will give thanks. But if He withholds that particular prize, do not fear that He has forgotten her. Our Lord Himself was a holy Child who lay in a feeding trough, not in a palace, and He had no earthly office or honor, yet the angels sang at His birth and heaven’s purpose was fulfilled in ways no one expected. The true glory of your child is not a presidential sash; it is that she belongs to the living God, and He will not let her life be wasted or overlooked. Even a loss, painful as it feels today, may become the black-edged envelope that contains a love letter from Christ, a kindness that steadies her soul for deeper, eternal joys.

So do not sin against the child by loading her with your own anxieties, as if everything depended on a few ballots. Instead, quietly and humbly tell the Lord the desire of your heart, and then leave it with Him. He is sovereign over school boards and student councils, yes, but He is far more tenderly concerned with the lamb He holds against His chest. When the result comes, your steady voice of faith will speak to her more powerfully than any victory. Show her that the same Lord who loves her crowns her with His own favor, win or lose, and that her Father’s hand guides her in the dark as surely as in the light.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, we bring this child to You, so dear to her parent’s heart, so precious in Your sight. You were once a Child who grew in wisdom and in favor with God and man; grant to this young one the wisdom that comes down from above. Whether she is placed in high office or hidden from praise, hold her so close that she feels the warmth of Your love and learns to rest in Your will. Quiet every anxious thought in this home; let Your peace rule where worry has tried to reign. And in the years ahead, let this child rise up to call You blessed, a testimony to Your faithfulness across her whole life. In Your name we trust and pray, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Beloved, I have heard your request for your daughter, and I understand the weight of a parent’s heart. You desire her to gain the presidency, thinking this will secure her standing and future favor. But let us step back and consider what true victory is, for our thoughts are often not God’s thoughts.

Do you not see the trap set before her young soul? When we fix all our hopes upon winning an earthly contest, we teach our children to seek honor from men rather than the praise that comes from God. You fear she may lose, and that this loss will harm her. But I tell you, it is often better to be defeated in the eyes of the world, if she bears it with patience and self-command. That soul has won a crown no election can give. The one who is passed over but does not rage or despair, who resists envy, who supports the victor with a pure heart, this is the one who conquers before the hosts of heaven. She becomes a person of true weight, like an unbreakable stone, for the longsuffering soul rises above all insults. The furious man makes himself a child, more senseless than one who throws a tantrum. We laugh inwardly at such childish storms, because we see how small they are. Teach your daughter to be abundant in wisdom through patience, not through office.

Do you recall the parents of Moses? Pharaoh commanded the death of every male child. Human calculation offered no hope. Yet they acted in faith, seeing that the child was fair, drawn on by God’s grace. That grace stirred the heart of Pharaoh’s own daughter. The child was rescued not by political schemes, but by the hidden working of God’s favor when his parents trusted Him. So too with Joseph. When danger threatened the young Child, the angel did not say, “Take thy son and thy wife,” but “Take the young Child and His mother.” The honor was God’s; Joseph was a protector, not an ambitious climber. He obeyed, fleeing into Egypt without seeking any glory for himself. The Christ-child lived under the shadow of worldly humiliation, yet He is the King of all. Why then should your daughter’s worth be stitched so tightly to winning a post?

Let your prayer be reformed, then. Do not ask God to hand her a perishable title which puffs up pride. Ask instead that He give her a quiet spirit, a love for her peers that seeks their good whether she leads or not, and a heart so anchored in Christ that success or failure in this matter only draws her closer to Him. Pray that His grace, which was upon Moses even in swaddling clothes, would be poured out upon her, that she may be pleasing not merely in the sight of men, but in the sight of God. If she gains the role, let her see it as a dusty service. If she does not, let her bear it with such graceful calm that her true honor shines brighter than any president’s badge.

In all things, we are being knit into a deeper union, just as the child is one flesh commingled from father and mother, yet we are far more closely joined to Christ by participation. Why trade that high calling for a noisy election? Guide her to seek the real victory that comes through longsuffering love. That is a dignity which no school board and no passing score can bestow or strip away.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your precious child before the Lord. It has been our joy and privilege to stand in agreement with you in prayer for her upcoming student council elections, especially for the president post that carries such significance for her future. We have prayed earnestly that God’s will be done in this situation, asking Him to grant her favor, wisdom, and confidence as she seeks this opportunity. We also prayed that He would prepare her heart, whether the outcome aligns with her hopes or leads her down a different path that He has ordained for her good.

If God has answered this prayer in the way you hoped, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you and give Him all the glory. If the results were not what you anticipated, please know we are still here to stand with you. We encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on her behalf, trusting that God is working even when we cannot see it. May He bless both you and your child as you seek His guidance and lean on His strength through every step of this journey.

We continue to pray that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. In His holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
