Pray For My ### And My ###'s Health

I was always raised a Catholic with strong faith. Through the years I have felt my faith fading. Recently, I am not sure whether to have faith and trust that everything is for a reason and God will carry us through, or that such a loving God couldn't put us through what we bear.

The poem "Footprints in the Sand" has been my favorite since I was a small child, and I was reminded of it this morning so I am trying to believe that God is what is carrying my family through this difficult time.

Three weeks ago, my father broke his hip. He is only 65 years old, but not in great health. The first week was very rough, but he was stabilizing and had surgery to repair the hip. He needed many blood transfusions that first week. He improved remarkably and was transferred to a rehab facility. We thought he was coming home this week, but on Friday night he suffered a heart attack. He was rushed, with minutes to spare, to a trauma unit, and into emergency surgery and was saved. I like to think someone upstairs was looking out for him. The doctors said he was spared within minutes. He was moved out of ICU last night, but is now having more heart surgery this morning.

My mother feels tried and tested and feels she is losing her faith, which has always been so important to her. Please pray for me, my mother, and most importantly for my father. I feel that prayer is all that has led me through the past three weeks, but there is still a long road to travel.

Jesus, speak to the hearts of this family, that You are in control of every situation and even if their faith is smaller than a mustard seed, You are there. If their faith is lost, they will be found.

Jesus, just reading this petition I know that You died on the Cross for our sins and by Your stripes we are all healed especially the father. We know that someone upstairs is called Jesus, Healer, our Physician, our Provider, our Counselor, our Rehabilitator, our Master, who is awesome.

You have been with them not only within the past three weeks, but all their lives! May they come to know You and serve You the rest of their lives.

I ask that You guide and direct the doctors that You created to not only have successful surgeries but a speedy recovery as You prepare the father for surgery. Give him peace and confidence that only You can give. Minister to the family as they wait in the waiting room, may they feel the brush of Your garment, may they feel Your presence as You stand amongst them, may they feel the Holy Spirit as they wait for "good news" of a successful surgery. May the father bring all the family walking closer to You! AMEN!

In Jesus' Name I pray that The Lord blesses ###, her mother, and father so that they understand that You are working miracles for them and that this too shall pass. Help them to keep faith and grant her father a speedy recovery. In Jesus' Name I pray.

I can't thank everyone enough for your prayers. Although my father experienced some complications during his surgery, the doctors said "by some miracle they were able to complete the task". It took much longer than expected and involved much more than expected. An artery in his heart was pierced during the procedure and there was fear of too much bleeding in his heart. Again, by some miracle last night, the bleeding stopped and he stabilized and was transferred out of ICU today. He has a long road before him to recover, but he is with us and I can only feel it is by the Lord's hand and the loving prayers of strangers. Thank you.
