Your honest desire for marriage is a good and God given desire, and I am grateful you have shared it so openly. Marriage was created by God and is honored throughout Scripture as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and it is right to bring this longing before the Lord and ask for His leading.
Scripture shows how seriously God takes marriage and family. In the law of Moses there was a provision that if a man died without children, his brother was to marry his widow to preserve the family name and inheritance. That law reflects God's care for continuity, provision, and faithfulness within families. Later, some tried to use that law to test Jesus, asking about a woman who had been married to seven brothers in succession, each dying without children, and whose wife she would be in the resurrection. Jesus answered by affirming that the resurrection is real, that God is the God of the living, and that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels in heaven. His answer reminds us that marriage is a gift for this life, purposeful and holy now, while our ultimate hope is eternal life with Him.
Because marriage belongs to this life, it matters how we seek it in this life. The best foundation is a steady walk with Jesus Christ, trusting Him for salvation and growing in godliness day by day. Those who seek to live in a godly way will face hardships and testing, and faith that has no root will not last, but faith that is rooted in Christ endures. Rather than looking for fault in others or becoming critical or discouraged if answers seem slow, keep your heart soft toward God, confessing sin honestly before Him as David did, and receiving His grace.
I will pray for you that God, according to His perfect wisdom and love, will lead you to the woman He intends for you to love and marry, if it is His will for you to marry. I will pray that He makes practical ways for you to meet and to get to know each other in a healthy, godly manner, with time, opportunity, and wise counsel. I will pray that He brings someone who shows genuine and sincere interest in knowing you, who will be faithful and not quick to give up, and that your relationship together would be marked by patience, kindness, purity, and a shared commitment to Christ. I will also pray that God works in miraculous ways in your life, not only in providing a wife but in shaping you more into the image of His Son, so that whatever He does will strengthen your faith and bring Him glory.
Continue to seek the Lord first, to pray, to stay in His Word, to fellowship with other believers, and to live faithfully where He has placed you. Trust His timing and His goodness, knowing He sees your heart and hears your prayers through Jesus Christ. May the Lord give you peace as you wait on Him, wisdom to recognize His leading, and hope that rests in the resurrection and eternal life He has promised.
