Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we join you in prayer before our Father with love in the name of Jesus Christ.
We thank God for the desire He has placed in your heart for marriage as He ordained it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, and that it preserves the holiness that comes to us through faith. It is a bond ordained by God, and it is to be adorned with chasteness, gravity and orderliness. Its profit is to preserve the body pure, keeping us from fornication and helping us live in a way that is worthy of the gift we have received in Christ. While you wait, keep guarding that good treasure, following peace with all people and holiness, and be adorned not only by keeping yourself from evil but by abounding in good works.
We pray for you now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up our brother to You. You know his longing to love and to be loved within the covenant of marriage. If it is Your will, lead him in Your perfect timing to the woman You have prepared for him, a woman who shares faith in Christ and who desires to know him, to cherish him and to persevere with him until they are one in You. Make it possible in practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in purity and wisdom, with the presence and counsel of reverent people and with hearts that seek first Your kingdom. Grant miracles in his life according to Your mercy and power, and grant him patience and self restraint as he waits, as Isaac waited, keeping his body and mind pure and his life worthy of Your calling. Help him to use this season to grow in prayer, in service and in every good work, so that when You open the door he will be ready to love his wife as Christ loves the Church and to build a home that honors You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our hope. Amen.
Continue to walk faithfully, to pray continually and to keep yourself pure. Trust the Lord to provide what is needful in His time and to guide your steps toward a marriage that reflects His faithfulness. May He keep you, strengthen you and grant you peace as you wait upon Him.
