Beloved of All
Your desire for a lifelong marriage is a good and God honoring desire. Scripture presents marriage from the beginning as God giving a wife to a husband and joining one man and one woman in a covenant for this life, and it calls that union good. It is right to bring that desire to the Lord and to ask Him to lead you to the woman He has for you.
The Bible also helps keep that desire in perspective. The law of Moses included a provision where a brother would marry his brother's widow to preserve the family name when there were no children, which shows how seriously God takes marriage and family in this present life. Yet when Jesus was questioned about a woman who had been married to seven brothers in turn, He answered that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven, and He affirmed that God is the God of the living who will raise the dead. Marriage is a gift for this life, not for eternity, and its deeper purpose is to point us to the unending fellowship we will have with God Himself. That hope can steady you while you wait.
I will pray that God in His wisdom and mercy will bring you and the woman He has for you together in His timing, and that He will open clear and practical ways for you to get to know one another in a pure and honorable way, with opportunity for honest conversation, wise counsel, and time in healthy Christian community. I will pray that she will be a woman of genuine faith in Jesus Christ, for only through Him is there salvation and a foundation for a godly home, and that she will show sincere interest in knowing you and a commitment to walk through getting to know one another with patience and grace. I will pray also that you will continue to grow as the man God is calling you to be, rooted in His Word, living faithfully before Him, and keeping marriage within its right place as a covenant of one man and one woman for life, where love, faithfulness, and physical union belong together within that covenant alone.
God does work miracles, and He also works through ordinary faithfulness day by day. Ask Him not only to act powerfully on your behalf but to make you steadfast, not shallow or quickly withered, but deeply rooted in Christ so that whether the answer comes quickly or slowly you remain trusting and obedient. May the Lord guard you from a critical or fault finding spirit and fill you with love, and may He give you peace as you trust Him with this part of your life.
Father in Jesus name, I bring this brother before You. You know his longing for a wife and for a home built on You. If it is Your will, lead him to the woman You have prepared for him and provide simple, practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in a way that honors You. Give them both genuine interest, kindness, perseverance, and purity, and keep them from giving up on what is good. Above all draw each of them closer to Jesus, and let Your perfect will be done in his life. Amen.
