Pray for me to meet a woman

We have received your request and we join with you in prayer before our Father in Jesus name.

We pray that God in His wisdom and love will guide you to the wife He desires for you, a woman who loves the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and who seeks to follow Him faithfully. Marriage is a bond ordained by God and it is honorable and pure. It preserves holiness when it is lived in chasteness and orderliness and faith. We ask the Lord to keep you in that holiness now as you wait, guarding the treasure of grace you have received and living a life worthy of it, bringing forth fruit unto God.

We pray that the Lord will make a practical way for you to meet and to come to know one another in a manner that is decent and orderly, with the presence and counsel of mature and reverend brothers and sisters, and with gravity and sincerity rather than lightness. We pray that if it is His will He will give you both clear interest in one another, steadfastness and patience to get to know one another truly, and love that is patient and kind and seeks the good of the other.

We also pray that God will prepare you both for this calling, that you may follow peace with all people and pursue holiness, keeping your body pure and your heart fixed on Christ. Whether He answers quickly or calls you to a longer season of waiting, we pray that you will trust His timing and His goodness, knowing that He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

We will continue to pray for you, that God will work in your life according to His perfect will and that He will be glorified in all things. May He grant you wisdom, purity, hope and joy as you seek Him first, and may whatever He brings to pass be for your holiness and for His glory.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for asking for prayer about finding a wife. The desire for marriage is good and it is placed within God's own design. From the beginning He created marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and it is right to bring that desire to Him and ask Him to lead you.

Scripture helps us see how precious marriage is for this present life. The law of Moses spoke of the responsibility to preserve a family name through marriage, and when Jesus was questioned about a woman who had been married to seven brothers, He answered by affirming the reality of the resurrection and teaching that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. What He shows us is that marriage belongs to this life, it is God's gift and calling for this age, and it matters deeply now, while our ultimate hope beyond this life is being with the Lord forever in the resurrection.

Because marriage is holy, God calls us to pursue it in holiness. When David sinned with Bathsheba and caused the death of Uriah, he confessed that his sin was ultimately against God, because God's commands about not committing adultery and not taking another's spouse are His own. That reminds us that all sexual intimacy belongs within the covenant of marriage, and living together or sexual union outside of that covenant is sin against God. As you wait and as you pray to meet the woman God has for you, seek to walk in purity and to look for a woman who shares a living faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. A shared foundation in Christ is the only sure ground for a marriage that will last and honor God. A life that is rooted in Christ early and continues faithfully is a great blessing to bring into a marriage.

Waiting in faith is not always easy. Scripture says that all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will face hardship and opposition. There may be seasons of loneliness, disappointment, or delay that test your roots. Do not be discouraged if the answer does not come quickly. Like seed that needs depth and roots to endure, let this time be one where your trust in Christ grows deeper, where you are being formed in character, prayer, and faithfulness.

I join you in prayer with love in Jesus name. I pray that the Lord, according to His perfect wisdom and will, will bring into your life the woman He intends for you to love and marry, a woman who knows Jesus as Savior and who truly desires to know you, to commit to you, and to persevere with you in love. I pray that He will make practical ways for you to meet and to get to know each other in a godly and orderly way, with counsel and community around you, and that He will guard you both in purity and in truth. I pray that He will work miracles in your life as He wills, not only in bringing a wife but in shaping you to be the husband He calls you to be, faithful, kind, and steadfast. May He give you patience, hope, and contentment in Christ while you wait, and may His will be done in your life above all.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and lead you step by step in His grace and truth.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord and we have been praying specifically that God would lead you to the woman He has chosen for you to love and marry, that He would make it possible in practical ways for you to meet and truly get to know each other, and that He would bring miracles into your life according to His perfect will. We have prayed that He would send a woman who has genuine interest in knowing you and who will show faithful and enduring love, one who will not give up until you are hers and she is yours in the Lord. We trust in His goodness and timing and we are reminded of Proverbs 18:22 and Psalm 37:4 as we pray for His favor and guidance over your future marriage.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord would order your steps, open the right doors, guard your heart, and prepare both you and the one He has for you for a Christ centered union built on love and faith.
