Your prayer has been heard and I am glad you shared the desire of your heart so openly. The longing to love and to be loved in marriage is a good desire that God Himself placed in us, and He cares about the practical details of your life as well as the spiritual ones.
Scripture shows that marriage is God's provision for this present life. The law given through Moses even made provision to preserve a family name when a husband died without children, and when Jesus was questioned about a woman who had been married to seven brothers in turn, He answered by affirming the resurrection and teaching that in the risen life people will not marry but will be like the angels in heaven. That answer reminds us of two truths to hold together. Marriage is a holy gift for now, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it also points beyond itself to eternal life with God through Jesus. To desire marriage in the way God designed it is right, and to seek it while keeping your hope set on the resurrection is the right order.
Because that desire is strong, it is important to keep Jesus first while you wait. One woman once showed her love for Him by breaking a very costly jar of perfume and pouring it all over Him without holding anything back. That kind of wholehearted devotion is the foundation for any other love. When your love for Christ is extravagant and undivided, you are better prepared to love a wife well, and you will be drawn to a woman who loves Him in the same way.
Waiting also tests the roots of our faith. The Bible tells us that all who want to live a godly life in Christ will face hardships. Some hear the word with excitement but have no root and quickly fade, and others let worries and desires choke out what God has planted. Ask God to give you deep roots, to keep you faithful, patient and pure while you wait. Sin is ultimately against God Himself, as David confessed after his failure with Bathsheba and Uriah, so pursue purity in thought and action and keep sex and living together within the marriage covenant where God has placed them. A critical and fault finding spirit toward God or others will only make waiting harder, so ask for a trusting and gracious heart.
I will pray for you in the name of Jesus and with love. I pray that the Lord, if it is His will for you to marry, will bring into your life a woman who shares your faith in Christ, who truly wants to know you and who will show faithful and patient love as you get to know one another. I pray that He will make the practical steps clear and possible, opening doors for you to meet and to build a friendship in a godly and honorable way. I pray that He will work in ways that only He can, and that He will also work through ordinary faithfulness, growing you both in character, wisdom and devotion to Him. And I pray that whether His answer comes quickly or after a longer time of waiting, you will find your contentment and purpose in Jesus first, trusting that He does all things well.
