Pray for me to meet a woman

You ask for a wife, and I will pray that God grants your desire, yet the desire itself must be ordered by a greater longing. It is not marriage that hinders the kingdom, but the purpose that makes ill use of it. Use marriage with moderation, and you may be first in the kingdom. But if you approach it merely to satisfy loneliness or demand a woman who will not give up until she possesses you, you set a snare for yourself. A wife is not an idol to be won by persistence, nor a miracle to be performed for your comfort. The true miracle is a life of purity and love, which no sign can surpass.

Seek holiness first. If you are loosed from a wife, it is no sin to desire one, but let it be in chastity and self-control, not in frantic grasping. The greatest witness to the world is not a miraculous meeting but a soul on fire with love for God and neighbor. For miracles do not so attract the heathen as a mode of life radiant with virtue. So while I pray for God to open a door, I urge you to focus on becoming the kind of man a godly woman would recognize as a friend of Christ. Let your conduct be blameless, your alms generous, your words gentle. Then, if it is His will, He will bring you together with one who shares your faith and fears the Lord, for marriage is honorable when it preserves the holiness given by our faith.

Do not say, “Send me a sign,” but rather, “Make me worthy of the kingdom.” For nothing pleases God so much as an excellent course of life. Not when we cast out demons, but when we keep His commandments, He calls us friends. Therefore, while you wait, labor for that friendship. Occupy yourself with the Scriptures, with service, with prayer. Cast aside the film on your eyes that fixes on earthly things, and look steadfastly to the things to come. Then, whether married or not, you will possess the one thing needful. I will pray for you, but I pray even more that you may attain a pure heart, for that is the mother of all blessings, and with it, whatever else is good will be added unto you.

The deepest miracle any of us can experience is being freed from the power of sin and brought into the light of Christ. That is where real life begins, and it is the foundation for every other good gift God gives, including marriage. Before you meet a wife, be sure you have first met Jesus personally, like Andrew who encountered the Messiah and then brought his brother Peter to Him. Let your own heart be captivated by Him, and let that overflow into every relationship.

I join you in praying, with love and in Jesus’ name, for practical ways to open. God’s law once made provision for a leper to be cleansed, a miracle already designed and waiting. He can make a way in details you cannot yet imagine. The early believers met in a home, praying earnestly for Peter’s release, and God sent an angel to open prison doors. We pray with that same confidence for the doors He will open for you to meet the right woman.

From the beginning, His design has been that a man leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two become one flesh. What God joins together, no one should separate. That is the union worth waiting and praying for. Stay rooted in purity while you wait. David’s tragic fall through adultery and murder shows how quickly a desire that steps outside God’s boundaries becomes a sin against the Lord Himself. Guard your heart and body for the wife He has for you.

Pray for a woman whose devotion mirrors that unnamed woman who broke her alabaster jar and poured out expensive perfume on Jesus without holding back. She loved extravagantly, not calculating the cost. A wife who “will not give up on you until you are hers and she is yours” reflects that same wholehearted commitment. But take care: the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches can choke out faith, like seed among thorns. Anxiety about finding a spouse can become a care that drowns trust. Jesus slept peacefully in a storm-tossed boat, knowing His Father was in control. Ask Him to give you that same rest while you wait.

Remember the feeding of the multitude with a boy’s small lunch? Jesus took very little and multiplied it far beyond what anyone expected. If you feel you have little to offer or the situation seems impossible, He can create abundant provision right where you are, maybe even across life’s lake in a place you had not considered possible.

We hold onto the truth that in the resurrection there is no marriage or giving in marriage; we will be like the angels. Your ultimate hope rests in the resurrection life Jesus purchased for you. That frees you to trust Him with your desires without desperation. And if God blesses you with a wife and children, your home can become a place where godly influence leads little ones toward holiness, not just the world’s patterns.

I pray that God sends you a woman of genuine interest, who cleaves to you in the Lord, and that He makes the practical steps clear so you can truly get to know each other. May the miracle of His transforming grace shine through your story.
