The desire for marriage is a good thing, but you ask amiss. You seek for God to send you a woman and to work miracles for your meeting, but have you considered what kind of man you are becoming while you wait? When the crowds sought our Lord, He rebuked them, saying they sought Him not because they saw miracles but because they ate the loaves and were filled. They were concerned with the fleshly satisfaction, not the spiritual sign. Is your prayer any different when you fix your heart on a romantic meeting and a woman who will not give up on you, as if that were the great miracle? The greater wonder is a life that shines with virtue, an endurance firmer than adamant. David was a man after God’s own heart while yet young, and no dead body did he raise. Job amazed the devil with no miracle but a steadfast life. You ask for miracles to happen in your life, but the far greater miracle is the soul that masters its desires and draws near to God without such signs. That is the miracle which makes God your debtor, while the working of outward signs often harms the proud and the unwary.

You ask also that the meeting be made possible in practical ways. Here there is wisdom in not deferring marriage indefinitely while chasing after wealth or some perfect circumstance. The root of many evils in this matter is the love of money. But more must be said. Do you pray for a chaste bride, and are you preparing yourself to be a sober and God-fearing husband? If a young man grows wanton before marriage and learns the ways of harlots, even the most honorable wife becomes unpleasing to him; he seeks again the dissolute laughter and base words, and the home is thrown into disorder. A wife of free estate is not given for indecency but to be a partner in life, to keep the house and instruct her husband in gravity. Pray rather that God would make you the kind of man who values such a wife, one whose desire is governed by the fear of God, so that the marriage may be truly honorable, the bodies pure, and the offspring full of blessing. Do not labor for the meat that perisheth, nor for a union sought after the flesh, but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then this desire, if it be for your salvation, will be added in His time and His way.
