We hear your heart cry to fully surrender to God and to not waste the life He has given you and we join with you in seeking His will together in Jesus name. This desire to surrender fully is from the Holy Spirit drawing you and it is the most important decision you can make, to give everything to Him and live for His glory rather than for yourself.
Scripture calls us to this complete surrender. Romans 12:1 says Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. And Romans 12:2 says Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. To surrender is not a one time moment but a daily denying of self and choosing His way. Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. And Galatians 2:20 reminds us I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
We also hear your burden not to waste your life and we share that burden with you. A wasted life is one lived for temporary things, but a life surrendered to God is full of eternal purpose. Ephesians 2:10 tells us For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. God has already prepared good works for you to walk in. Ephesians 5:15-16 urges us Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. And Psalm 90:12 says So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. We want to gently rebuke any holding back, any area where we try to keep control, keep sin, or keep living for our own plans, because partial surrender is not surrender at all. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly address this because it is only through Jesus that we can come to God and be fully surrendered. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To surrender to God means first to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, to repent and receive His forgiveness and new life. Without Jesus we cannot surrender in our own strength, but with Him we are made new. If you have not yet put your full trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord we encourage you to do so today, to confess your sin and believe in Him, for then you will receive the Holy Spirit who empowers you to live a surrendered life.
So we pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for the hunger You have placed in this heart to be fully Yours and to not waste the life You have given. We ask that You help this one to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Transform their mind and renew them day by day that they may know and walk in Your good and perfect will. Teach them to deny self, to take up their cross daily and follow Jesus with wholehearted obedience. Show them the good works You prepared in advance for them and give them courage and wisdom to redeem the time and walk wisely. Break any chains of self will, fear, worldly distraction or hidden sin that would hold them back from full surrender. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with power and love and discipline, that Christ may live fully in them. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, assure them of salvation through His name alone, and let their life bear much fruit for Your glory and not be wasted but be spent for Your kingdom. We ask that You number their days and make their life a testimony of Your grace and mercy. We pray this together in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
