We hear your heartache and the weight of your struggle, and we come before the Lord with you in this moment of grief. The pain of loss is deep, and it’s understandable that you might feel unworthy of God’s love right now. But we want to remind you—it is not about what you deserve. God’s love is not earned; it is freely given through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 tells us, *"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."* Even in your lowest moments, His love remains steadfast.
We must address the mention of "my ###" in your request—if this was a reference to something or someone that has come between you and God, we rebuke that influence in Jesus’ name. Anything that draws us away from the Lord, whether it be an idol, a sinful relationship, or a worldly attachment, must be surrendered to Him. First John 1:9 says, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Bring whatever is burdening you before the Lord, and let Him cleanse and restore you.
Your desire to grow closer to God is a beautiful step of faith. James 4:8 encourages us, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."* This is a season to press into Him, not pull away. Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with believers who can encourage you. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."*
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one before You, who is hurting and feeling unworthy of Your love. Lord, we thank You that Your love is not based on our performance but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would draw near to them in this time of grief and confusion. Comfort them with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted. We rebuke any lies from the enemy that tell them they are beyond Your grace. Father, help them to surrender anything that has come between them and You, and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to grow closer to You each day. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them feel the warmth of Your love surrounding them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to cling to the truth of God’s Word. When feelings of unworthiness arise, remember that it is Christ’s righteousness—not your own—that makes you acceptable to the Father. You are deeply loved, and He is near to you in this season. Keep seeking Him, and He will reveal Himself to you in powerful ways. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you would like to know more about what it means to follow Christ, we would be honored to guide you in that decision.
