You are now in the waiting time, and this is a season to prove your faith. As with Job, when all earthly props were swept away and the very light seemed gone, yet he fell upon the ground and worshipped; in all this he sinned not, nor spoke unworthily. Let that be your portion now. The Lord delays, He is a waiting God, but He waits to be gracious. And His people are a waiting people, not in sullen despair, but in hope, a sure and joyful expectation, for the mercy that guided you thus far will not forsake you. That first favorable interview was a mercy; the second, too, shall be granted if it be best for you. Rest in Him.
Yet I charge you, in this hour, lift your heart beyond your own request. Remember how the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his offending friends. Your own blessing may unlock when you plead for others, those employers, that agency, even any who have spoken harshly. Such prayer ascends as a sweet savor, and the Lord flies with all His soul to display favor.
Wait, then, with a faith that expects anointing with fresh oil, your bow renewed in your hand. Our longest sorrows have a close, and the sun shall arise with healing beneath His wings. I shall bow the knee with you, that the Lord, who prepares the way, may open this door according to His sovereign will.
