Pray for job, financial security and healing from ###

We join with you in bringing this need before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing this burden with us so we can seek His will together.
We lift up your loved one who is in need of a job and financial security while also facing the heavy trial of ALS. We know how overwhelming it can feel to worry about provision and health at the same time, especially when health benefits are so necessary for care. We are reminded of our Father's promise to provide for His children, as it is written My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We pray that God would open the right door for employment, work that provides stability and dignity and meets financial needs without the loss of health benefits, and that He would give wisdom and favor in every application and interview. We trust that He sees every detail and cares deeply about both daily bread and bodily health.
We also bring before the Lord this diagnosis of ALS for healing and comfort. We believe that God is our healer and that nothing is beyond His power, for He says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds Jeremiah 30:17 and Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We pray for complete healing if it be His will, for strength in the body, for peace in the mind and heart, for skilled and compassionate medical care, and for endurance for family and caregivers. We also hold fast to the truth that whether healing comes in this life or ultimately in His presence, His grace is sufficient and His love never fails, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15.
We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. Lay Your healing hand upon this body afflicted with ALS, Lord, we ask for Your mercy and restoring power, ease the progression of this disease, strengthen muscles and breath, comfort pain and fear, and fill this dear one and the family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give wisdom to doctors and caregivers, sustain faith and hope even in waiting, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Draw this dear one close to Jesus, that he may know Him as Savior and Healer, and help all involved to seek first Your kingdom and trust You for all else. Your cry has been heard among us and we have carried it before the throne of grace with earnest supplication. To lack daily bread and to watch the body fail under so heavy an affliction as this disease is a double trial, and our hearts are moved with compassion for you as you ask for work, for provision, and for healing, with the added care that health benefits be not lost.
We are reminded of patient Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. The Lord permitted his substance to be removed and his body to be touched, yet sustained him by Divine support. Job arose and worshipped, and though he trembled when Jehovah spoke, he learned to yield his cause and to make his approach unto the Lord in childlike confidence even when He seemed to frown. At the last the Lord restored His servant and gave him twice as much as he had before. So we would encourage you to look to the same faithful God who is able to uphold you in all this, to keep you from sinning with unbelieving speeches, and to make even this dark hour a place of worship.
Concerning healing, we point you to that tree of life whose leaves were for the healing of the nations. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. And we remember how healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing were one. So we would have you seek first the Sun of Righteousness who has risen with healing in His wings, trusting that the Lord who pardons will also in His wisdom and mercy heal, whether by His immediate hand or by means which His providence appoints, and at the last will perfectly heal our bodies when He dwells with His people and they have no more need to say, I am sick.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, Thou seest this Thy afflicted one who needs daily work and daily bread. Provide, we beseech Thee, such honest employment as shall supply need and preserve those benefits which are needful for the care of the body. Open doors which no man can shut, and keep this one from anxious fear, giving contentment with Thy provision and fresh oil for each day's burden, that the bow renewed in the hand may not fail.
And, O great Physician, lay Thy hand upon this body afflicted with so sore a disease. Thou art able to heal, and Thy power was present to heal when Christ taught among men. If it be Thy holy will, rebuke this infirmity and restore strength. At the least, grant grace to bear it with patience like Job, to sin not with the lips, and to find Thy presence more vivid than before. Forgive sin, heal the heart, and let the healing virtue of Thy grace work health and cure within, till the soul is without spot before Thee. Sustain faith, comfort the family, and let all provision and all affliction work together for good to them that love Thee.
