Humble Prayer Warrior
I am a ### year old single mom and wanting so much to settle down with the right man and build a life with him. I have been divorced for five years now (was married for 18 years, but my then husband left me to live a gay lifestyle - devastating to me and the kids to say the least). I have three children who are now between the ages of ### - ###, and I am hoping to be approved for funding to begin completing my degree in January ### (I have only 8 courses to go, but StudentAid may not provide me with further funding). I had to leave my schooling to work fulltime and care for my teenage boys fulltime after their father moved to another city. My reason for posting my much needed prayer request concerns my current relationship with my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. Four months into our relationship I explained to him that my reason for dating was to find a husband to settle down with and rebuild a life together. I was clear and frank with him and asked him if he was seeking the same thing and he assured me he wanted to move ahead in this relationship with me and could see only me in his future... as in retire with me. It's been two years since that conversation and there has been no proposal. In fact, he keeps his world and mine somewhat separate. He keeps a distance from himself and my kids not letting them in it seems. During the first two years we saw each other mostly when I would stay at his place for three or four days, but since I have my kids fulltime now, he and I see each other once a week and he never comes out on the two nights his kids are at their moms. So I'm not sure if he just needs alone time or what he does on those nights... He tells me he loves me, calls me the love of his life, and that he misses me. Lately I've noticed a change in him. He's moody, doesn't show a whole lot of concern or compassion. He doesn't seem to feel a desire to come out to see me. I think he may be falling out of love with me and is not sure how to break up with me, so focuses on his life and his business. Or he may be cheating...
Please pray for truth so that I can move on with my life. I can handle a breakup - been there, done that - I cannot handle this not knowing and this distance and feelings of loneliness everyday...
One final request... please pray that I receive one final approval for funding to complete my degree. Two personal life challenges caused me to have to leave a semester that was funded and they deny students further funding if they fall into that situation... my two situations involved a traumatic stalking by a previous boyfriend and the second situation involved my having to leave school to find fulltime work to support my boys after their father moved to a different city. Please pray for me, I really need it.
