Pray for good sleep

We come before the Lord with you in this time of weariness, lifting up your need for restful sleep and the healing of insomnia that has troubled you. The Lord knows the toll this takes on your body, mind, and spirit, and He invites you to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Sleep is a gift from God, a time for renewal and restoration, and we know that He is able to grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

The Scriptures remind us that *"he gives his beloved sleep"* (Psalm 127:2, WEB), and we claim this promise over you tonight. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). If anxiety, fear, or the burdens of life have stolen your rest, we pray that you would release them into His hands, trusting that He is sovereign over all things. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28, WEB). His yoke is easy, and His burden is light—rest in Him.

We also pray that the Lord would fill your heart with hope and joy, even in this season of sleeplessness. Joy is not dependent on circumstances but is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) that flows from abiding in Christ. *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence"* (Psalm 42:5, WEB). Let your heart be steadfast in Him, for He is your refuge and strength.

If there are areas of your life where you have not fully surrendered to the Lord—perhaps worry, unforgiveness, or sin—we encourage you to bring them before Him in repentance. Unconfessed sin can weigh heavily on the soul and disrupt the peace God intends for His children. *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB). Let the Holy Spirit cleanse and renew you, so that nothing hinders the rest He desires for you.

Lastly, we notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His mighty name that we pray. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He alone can bring true peace, healing, and eternal rest to your soul.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up your child before You, asking for Your divine intervention in their battle with insomnia. Lord, You neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4), and we ask that You would grant them the rest they so desperately need. Quiet their mind, still their heart, and remove every distraction or fear that keeps them awake. Fill them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and let it guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We pray for healing, Lord—for their body to relax, their thoughts to be captivated by Your truth, and their spirit to be renewed by Your presence. Replace their weariness with Your strength, their anxiety with Your joy, and their despair with unshakable hope. Let them wake refreshed, ready to serve You with gladness.

If there is any sin or burden they are carrying, reveal it to them, Lord, and grant them the grace to release it at the foot of the cross. Cleanse them, renew them, and restore their soul. May they find their rest in You alone, for You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in their life, and may they experience the fullness of Your love and peace tonight and every night. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
