But we declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Your mother’s healing begins with a surrendered heart to Yahweh, the one true God, who alone can break every bondage and restore what has been lost.
First, we must address the mention of "Yahweh" in your prayer. While we honor the sacred name of God, we must also affirm that salvation and deliverance come only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and the power of His blood that we have access to the Father. We pray that your mother would come to know Jesus not just as a historical figure or a teacher, but as her Lord and Savior—the only One who can set her free from the grip of addiction. The stress and anxiety that come with addiction take a toll on the body and soul, but the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Your Word says that the sins of the fathers can be visited on the children to the third and fourth generation, but Your mercy extends to thousands of generations for those who love You and keep Your commandments (Exodus 20:5-6). We declare that this cycle of bondage ends with your mother. Raise her up as a testimony of Your power and grace, that others may see and be drawn to You.
We pray for practical steps of deliverance as well. Father, provide your mother with godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a support group for those struggling with addiction. Give her the courage to take steps toward freedom, such as cutting off access to gambling, seeking financial guidance, and replacing this habit with godly pursuits. May she find joy in serving You, in fellowship with other believers, and in discovering the gifts and talents You have given her.
Finally, we pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon her. True deliverance begins with a heart that turns away from sin and toward God. May she experience the fullness of Your forgiveness and the power of Your resurrection in her life. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Him who loved her (Romans 8:37). No weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, she shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in your mother’s life.
