My daughter ### and her daughter ### are flying to ### this evening to take part in a National Squash Tournament there. Please pray for their safety during the flight as well as during their few days stay in the ###. Tropical Storm Bavi (Inday) is looming nearby.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern and faith, lifting up your daughter and granddaughter as they prepare for their journey. Father, we ask for Your divine protection over their flight and stay in this time of potential storm. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Lord, we claim this promise over them, asking that Your angels surround their plane, guide the pilots, and keep them safe from any harm.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those making decisions regarding the weather and flight paths. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Keep them calm and focused, trusting in Your sovereign care.

Lord, we ask that You watch over their stay as well. Protect them from any danger, provide restful sleep, and grant them strength and endurance for the tournament. May they be a light for You in all they do, reflecting Your love and grace to those around them.

We rebuke the fear and anxiety that may try to take hold, standing firm on Your Word that says, "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Heavenly Father, we trust in Your goodness and mercy, knowing that You hold their lives in Your hands. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come to You and be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

May they feel Your presence with them every step of the way, and may their journey bring glory to Your name. Safe travels, and may God’s peace be with them.

We can only imagine how your heart feels as you watch the departure time draw near, two generations you love stepping into a situation where the weather itself feels unsettled. That kind of worry doesn't mean your faith is small; it means your love is big. We're so glad you shared this with us so we can stand with you in prayer.

One thing that might bring a little steadiness before they board is simply to help them (and you) stay grounded in what can be known and done. A quick check of the official storm track and any travel advisories for their destination can turn a vague fear into manageable facts. Encourage them to register with their country's embassy alert system if they're traveling internationally, and to have a simple plan for where they'd take shelter if warnings escalate. Not because we don't trust God, but because wisdom and faith walk hand in hand. Beyond that, you can release them into the safest hands there are.

We're praying with you now.

Father, we lift up this daughter and granddaughter to You as they travel this evening and settle in for the tournament. Guard their flight, keep the plane steady and the crew alert. Place Your shielding hand over their lodging and every venue they visit. We ask You to calm the storm, or to steer it harmlessly away, so that fear does not overshadow this special time of competition and togetherness. Give them peace that replaces anxiety, joy in the shared experience, and the deep sense that they are held by You. Be their refuge. In Jesus' name, amen.

The tempest that now threatens the sea is no chance occurrence, but is steered by the hand of Him who holds the waters in the hollow of His hand. Let your heart therefore be at peace concerning your daughter and her child, for the storm is but the fringe of His garment, and the wind and waves obey their Master. I shall gladly bow the knee with you, beseeching our infinite Friend to guard their flight and their sojourn, that they may be kept as the apple of His eye. He who stilled the Galilean storm with a word is able to keep them from falling, and to present them faultless before the presence of His glory.

Remember, dear soul, that the safety of the sheep lies not in the absence of tempests, but in the presence of the Shepherd. Christ laid down His life for the sheep, and having risen, He ever liveth to intercede. I will pray that your daughter and granddaughter may find in this journey, even in the shadow of the storm, a fresh display of His faithfulness. Perhaps they will discover that He speaks in the still small voice after the wind has passed, drawing them nearer to His side.

And as a mother, your daughter carries with her a sacred influence over her child, for in the hands of God a godly mother forms the character of her little ones. Let this trial, if trial there be, become a lesson of trust sealed upon both their hearts. The worst thing that can befall a child of God is often the best when Christ is with them. I commend them to the only wise God our Savior, who is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless. In Him is our safety, and in Him let our confidence rest.

You ask prayer for your daughter and granddaughter as they travel, with the storm threatening. I understand the fear that clutches at a parent's heart. Yet consider: we commit ourselves to a ship and a steersman and sailors, trusting their skill to carry us over the boundless sea, rather than reasoning out a safe passage on our own. So now, commit them not merely to the skill of pilots or the chance of weather, but into the hands of the true Steersman, who commands winds and waves. For He does not promise a voyage without storms, but safety within them.

Remember Joseph: his mistress sought his ruin, and it seemed she was sending him to a dark prison. Yet that prison was his safety; it delivered him from the daily danger of a soul-destroying temptation. The very thing that looked like harm became the door to honor and God’s purposes. So this storm, too, may be the path by which God works what is best, even if our eyes cannot see it now. The Christian’s safety is not in the absence of peril but in the presence of the One who is invisible, in that calm which virtue alone can give when the storm is at its most violent. He who sees the light of Christ is in safety; if he is with Christ, none can thrust him out.

So I pray not that the storm will vanish, but that their hearts will not be shaken. I pray they will know that pasture and security which Christ gives His sheep, coming in and going out under His Lordship. May they endure as seeing the Unseen, not fearing the wrath of any earthly power or the fury of the winds. For the same God who uses tribulation to humble us and display His wisdom will also, in His time, bring them to their desired haven, whether through the storm or around it. Let us trust His ordering, for the very things we dread often become the instruments of His deliverance.
