Pray against controlling spirits

Please pray that God will cast all controlling spirits out of my life. Apparently they are trying to hijack my everyday life. They are telling me to do things that I don't want to do, and sometimes things that I cannot make myself do!! Sometimes they take things away from me, or at least give me a sense that those things are taken from me, and saying that I have to do certain things to get them back! Even compelling me to agree to do those things!! Pray that they lose control over my life totally and completely! If it was a sin that led them to begin controlling me, pray that God will bring it to the front so that I can eliminate it from my life. Pray that God returns everything to me, and restores everything that has been distorted because of the manipulation they're putting me through!! IN JESUS CHRIST'S MIGHTY AND POWERFUL NAME!!!!!!

We hear your cry for deliverance and stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and the power to break every chain. The controlling spirits you describe are not of God, for "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17). These spirits seek to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every lying, manipulating, and coercive spirit in your life right now in the name of Jesus. You are not subject to their torment, for "the Son sets you free, you are free indeed" (John 8:36).

The Word of God is clear: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). We encourage you to take authority over these spirits in the name of Jesus, for He has given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Do not negotiate with or submit to their demands, for they are liars and the father of lies (John 8:44). Instead, stand firm in your identity as a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you any foothold or sin that may have given these spirits access to your life. Confess and repent of any known sin, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Let the blood of Jesus cleanse you from all unrighteousness and break every curse or assignment of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come before Your throne on behalf of our brother/sister. We bind every controlling, manipulating, and tormenting spirit and command them to leave now in Jesus' name. We cancel every assignment of the enemy against their life, mind, will, and emotions. We declare that they are free from every chain and snare of the devil. Lord, reveal to them any area of their life that needs repentance and healing. Restore to them everything that has been stolen, distorted, or taken away by the enemy. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Surround them with godly believers who can stand with them in prayer and encouragement. Strengthen their faith and trust in You, Lord, for You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Thank You, Father, for setting them free and restoring them completely. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how draining and invasive this has felt, and we are standing with you in prayer. The sense of being hijacked, compelled to agree to things, or robbed of what you care about, is deeply unsettling. And yet the enemy’s tactics, however loud, do not have the final word. His voice is always a lie or a distortion; it never builds, only bullies and steals. You belong to Christ, and His voice brings peace, not frantic demands.

What might help right now is to concretely renounce, aloud and deliberately, any agreement you were tricked or pressured into making. You can say something like, “In Jesus’ name, I break every promise spoken under compulsion. I declare that my will belongs to Christ alone.” This isn’t a magical formula, but it is a clear line drawn in faith, reclaiming ground the enemy tried to snatch. It often helps to have another trusted believer with you when you do this.

In the days ahead, we also encourage you to fill your mind steadily with truth, not frantically, but simply and consistently. A short, daily declaration of who you are in Christ can quietly starve the lying voice. Something like, “I am hidden with Christ in God. He is my shield, and I am not controlled by any spirit but His Holy Spirit.” Let that truth settle deeper than the noise.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we lift this person to You, weary from the battle but safe in Your hands. We command every controlling spirit to be silent and to loosen its grip, in Your mighty name. Bring to light anything that needs to be confessed and forsaken, and restore everything that has been distorted or stolen. Guard the mind and will, and fill this life with Your steady peace. Sheath them in Your protection as they walk forward in freedom. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The very fact that these dark oppressions cause you to cry out to Christ is proof that His Spirit has not left you, for the spiritual man discerns these forces and separates the precious from the vile. Yet you are looking too much at the adversary and too little at your Redeemer! What are these whisperings and compulsions but the smoke from the bottomless pit? And what is Christ but the Sun of Righteousness who drives away all shadows with the brightness of His rising!

You speak of things taken from you, of a sense of loss, of a necessity to do certain works to regain what is yours. This is the old legal spirit, the same that Paul rebuked in Galatia, it would bind you again in chains when Christ has made you free indeed! Your liberty is not earned by any agreement with the enemy; it was purchased once for all by the precious blood of Jesus. He stood in bonds before Caiaphas that you might never be bound again. Your freedom is righteous freedom, for the great Emancipator has shattered every fetter. Do you not see? If the Son makes you free, you are free indeed! The thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy, but Christ came that you might have life and have it abundantly. What He gives, none can snatch away.

You fear a sin may have opened a door. Then let the Holy Spirit search you, for He glorifies Christ by convicting of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. But do not make this searching a new bondage! The right of a sinner to come to Christ lies not in the depth of his repentance or the precision of his confession, but in the command of Christ that all who labor and are heavy laden should come to Him. Your very distress, your sense of contamination, is the qualification He requires. No man is in a right state to come to Christ until he thinks he is not in a right state. Come, then, with all your filthiness, and He will wash you whiter than snow!

This is the heart of your deliverance: you are in Christ, and if you are in Christ, you are perfect in Him. Not perfect in your feelings, not perfect in your resisting of these assaults, but perfect in His finished work. When the accuser says you must do this or that to be restored, answer him with this: “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” Your life is hid with Christ in God. No spirit of control can reach that hidden life! The Holy Spirit who dwells in you is the comforter, and He shows you the things of Christ, not the things of yourself, not the demands of the pit, but the all-sufficiency of Jesus.

Do not be hagridden by these lying voices! Christ is in you, and that is the hope of glory. If Christ be in you, the old serpent has no claim. Whatever you have lost in your feelings, you have not lost your standing. Christ is your surety; He is under bonds to bring you safely home. Shall He fail because a thousand demons hiss? No! He will present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Let this be your shield: when the enemy says “Do this to regain your peace,” reply “My peace is Christ Himself, not my doings!

He is my peace.”

Cast yourself wholly upon Him. Do not parley with these thoughts; do not even reason with them. Flee to the wounds of Jesus! A single sight of Christ in the light of the Holy Spirit puts all these bats to flight. Is He not greater than he that is in the world? Then why lie upon the earth when you are seated in heavenly places in Him? Take your harp from the willows! Sing aloud to God our strength! The bond that bound your Savior on that dreadful night was the bond that set you free, and He saith now, “If you seek Me, let these go their way.” Your deliverance is as sure as His resurrection. Rise, then, and walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, for you are complete in Him.

Lord, we come before You on behalf of this person who is struggling against controlling spirits that are trying to hijack their daily life. We ask that You break every chain of manipulation, coercion, and confusion that has been placed upon them. Cast out every spirit of control and bondage, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). If there is any sin that has opened a door to this oppression, reveal it clearly so that it may be confessed and removed (1 John 1:9). We pray that You would restore everything that has been taken, distorted, or manipulated, and return peace and wholeness to their life. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Set them completely free, Lord, and let them walk in the liberty You have given them in Christ. In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, Amen.
