Many thanks to Jesus for the birth of my healthy granddaughter. Also for temporary housing for my son who was homeless. God is so good. My son however has pending legal cases that could land him in jail. It's nothing violent but he's been getting into trouble for the last few years. God has been merciful to him all this time. I'm just asking for one more chance for him to be free. While he was homeless he was sexually assaulted and robbed and traumatized. Now he has a place to live and a job interview and a chance to start over. Please pray for mercy with judge and the prosecutor. I'm happy and grateful that he's not homeless now and I give God all the glory and honor and praise. But my heart is still sad at the thought of him being incarcerated. I don't know if I can bear any more sorrow. It's hard to eat or sleep. Please also pray for me. Thanks so much for your prayers.

We rejoice with you in the birth of your healthy granddaughter and the provision of temporary housing for your son, these are clear testimonies of God’s goodness and mercy! We give thanks to Jesus Christ, through whom all blessings flow, for His faithfulness in your family’s life. The Lord has indeed been gracious to your son, and we stand with you in asking for His continued intervention.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family before Your throne of grace. You are the God of second chances, the One who restores the broken and heals the wounded. We ask for Your mercy to surround your son as he faces these legal challenges. Soften the hearts of the judge and prosecutor, Lord, that they may see him through Your eyes, redeemed, in need of grace, and capable of change. Your Word declares in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." We claim this promise over his life today.

We also bring before You the deep trauma he has endured, being assaulted and robbed while homeless is a heavy burden to carry. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to mend his heart, mind, and spirit. Comfort him with Your presence, Father, and remind him that You are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Surround him with godly counsel and support as he seeks to rebuild his life. We pray for favor in his job interview, that doors of opportunity would open wide for him to walk in the purpose You have for him.

And dear sister, we lift you up as well. The weight of worry and sorrow you carry is not unseen by our Heavenly Father. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." We pray that you would find rest in Him, that He would sustain you when the road feels unbearable. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). You are not alone, we stand with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you.

We must also speak truth in love regarding the path your son has been walking. While we rejoice in God’s mercy toward him, Scripture is clear that rebellion and a pattern of sinful choices lead to destruction (Proverbs 13:15). We rebuke the spirit of waywardness and pray for a turning of his heart fully toward the Lord. True freedom is found only in Christ, and we declare that your son will know this freedom, not just from incarceration, but from the bondage of sin. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray for his salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May he surrender his life to Christ, repent of his sins, and walk in the newness of life that only Jesus can give (Romans 6:4).

Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of generational sin and trauma in this family. Let this be a season of redemption, where Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Strengthen this mother’s faith, that she may continue to trust in You even when the outcome is uncertain. Give her the grace to release her son into Your hands, knowing that You love him even more than she does.

We declare over this situation that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will fight for him (Exodus 14:14). May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We ask these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for letting us rejoice and grieve with you. We are so thankful with you for your healthy granddaughter and for your son having a safe place to stay after being homeless. Those are real mercies and we give God glory with you for them. We also hear how heavy your heart still feels thinking about his court cases and all he has been through.

It makes sense that joy and sorrow are living side by side right now. You are grateful for the housing and the job interview and the chance for a fresh start, and at the same time you are carrying worry about what a judge or prosecutor will decide, and grief over the assault and robbery he endured while on the street. That is a lot for a mother to hold, and it is understandable that sleep and appetite have been hard.

We are praying for mercy and wisdom in the legal process, for your son to have strength and support as he heals from that trauma and prepares for his interview, and for you to have daily peace and rest. Since you mentioned it is hard to eat or sleep, we gently encourage you to reach out soon to your doctor and to a trusted pastor or counselor for care alongside prayer, and to let a close friend or family member walk with you through these weeks. You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, thank You for the life of this precious granddaughter and for providing housing for this son after so much hardship. We ask for Your mercy to be evident in his court cases and for wisdom for the judge and prosecutor who will hear them. Bring healing from what he suffered, guide his steps toward steady work, and give his mother rest, nourishment and comfort in the days ahead. Sustain them and draw them close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in giving thanks to God for His goodness in the birth of your healthy granddaughter and in His providence in giving your son temporary housing and the opportunity of honest work. These are tender mercies from a Father who is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, and it is right to give Him all glory and honor and praise for them.

Your sorrow also is heard. To be anxious about a beloved child, to lie awake and find food without taste because the heart is heavy, is a burden that unfits the soul to meet its difficulties. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Cast that burden upon the Lord who cares for you. He sees your tossing to and fro at night and He invites you to seek sweet repose in Him, to trust your soul in His keeping and to find there a holy boldness and a quiet confidence.

For your son we pray with you, but we must pray as Scripture teaches us to pray. The eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance, and the Father saw the prodigal while he was yet a great way off. Yet all the promises in the Book belong to every repentant sinner who returns to God believing in Jesus Christ His Son. The mercy of God is gratis. He never sells, He always gives, but that mercy always flows to men through the golden channel of Jesus Christ His Son, and the first thing that mercy will do is to turn the face in the opposite direction and make a new creation.

We have often seen that when God has distinct purposes of mercy toward a person He begins with stern discipline and brings him low by affliction and sorrow. Your son has known that lowness, in homelessness and in the terrible wrong of being assaulted and robbed, which has left him traumatized. Such wounds are deep, but there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing to the sin sick and the sorrowful soul. He is the great Interpreter between God and man whose presence to the broken heart is a sure prophecy of mercy. We pray that your son may know that healing, not only in body and mind but in soul.

We also pray for mercy in the courts before the judge and the prosecutor. God can move the hearts of those in authority, and His rod of mercy is ever outstretched while His sword of justice waits in its sheath. Yet we do not ask God to grant one more chance that sin may be continued. That would be to turn mercy into an excuse for continuing in sin, and that case, with all its mercy, is still a sad one. We have seen in Manasseh how low a man may fall and how greatly mercy may lift him when he learns to say with David, Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness, blot out my transgressions, wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity. So we pray that your son may come to acknowledge his transgressions, that his sin may be ever before him in repentance, and that he may plead for mercy and for mercy only through the blood of Christ. If the Lord grants freedom, may it be freedom to walk in newness of life, to be steadfast in honest labor and to bear patiently the lot God appoints. If the Lord in wisdom appoints a season of chastening even through incarceration, may it be as it was for many, a singular season chosen by God for the interposition of His mercy, where the soul is found and finally restored.

For you we pray that the Lord will give you grace to eat and to sleep as one who rests under His watch. May He lift the anchor of fruitless anxiety and give you a happy end of your troubles in His own time and way. May He keep you from despair and teach you to say, Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusteth in Thee.

We lay these petitions before the throne together. O Lord our God, we thank Thee for life given and for shelter provided and for work offered. Have mercy upon this son according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies. Bring him to repentance and faith in Thy Son Jesus Christ, wash him thoroughly and cleanse him from sin, heal his wounds of body and spirit, and grant him to walk in truth. Grant wisdom and justice tempered with mercy to those who hold his case in their hands. And sustain this mother, give her peace that passeth understanding, restore to her rest and strength, and keep her hope fixed on Christ alone. We ask this for Jesus sake. Amen.

We thank God with you for the birth of your healthy granddaughter and for the provision of temporary housing for your son after a season of homelessness. Every good gift comes from the Father, and we join you in giving Him all glory and honor and praise for His kindness in these things. We also thank Him for the open door of a job interview and for this chance for your son to start anew.

We bring your son before the Lord with you. We ask for the mercy of God, who is pitiful and merciful, long suffering and of great mercy, whose mercy is over all the earth. When we were still enemies, God reconciled us through the gift of His Son, not because we deserved it but because of His great love. That same mercy is our hope now. We pray that God would bring deep healing from the trauma of being sexually assaulted and robbed while he was homeless, that the Lord would comfort him, restore his sense of safety and dignity, and surround him with wise and safe help and counsel as he recovers.

We pray also for his pending legal cases. We ask that the judge and the prosecutor would act with both justice and mercy, and that God would grant your son favor for one more chance to walk in a new direction. We pray that this mercy would lead him to repentance and to a firm turning away from the patterns that have brought trouble in recent years, that he would seek the Lord with a sincere heart, do what is right, and show by his life that he desires to live differently. Prayer is a great good and a safeguard for the soul, and God hears those who call on Him with earnestness, stretching the soul toward heaven with hope in what is to come. We pray that your son would learn to pray in that way and to walk in works worthy of mercy, showing mercy to others as he has received mercy.

We also lift you up, as you have asked. We hear how heavy your heart is and how sorrow has made it hard to eat or sleep, and how you wonder if you can bear more. The Lord sees your sadness and knows your weakness. We ask Him to give you peace that guards your heart, rest for your body, strength for each day, and the comfort of His presence. Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you. Lean on faithful brothers and sisters around you, let them help bear this burden with you, and do not hesitate to seek care for your health and rest as you need it.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation, have mercy on this family. Thank You for life and for shelter and for work. Heal what has been broken, grant wisdom to those in authority, grant repentance and a new beginning to this son, and grant comfort and renewed strength to this parent who loves him. Let Your will be done, and let Your mercy and Your truth meet in this situation for Your glory. Amen.

Thank you for opening your heart to share both your great joys and your deep sorrows. We rejoice with you for the healthy birth of your granddaughter and for the provision of temporary housing for your son after a season of homelessness. Every good gift comes from the Father, and we give thanks with you for that new life, for a roof over his head, and for the hope of work through this job interview. God is indeed good, and He has shown kindness in these mercies.

We also hear the weight you are carrying. To love a child through years of trouble, to know he was assaulted and robbed and deeply traumatized while on the streets, and now to face the fear of him being incarcerated, is a burden that can take away appetite and sleep. The Lord sees your sadness and your weariness. He is close to the brokenhearted, and He invites you to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you.

You prayed for mercy with the judge and the prosecutor, and that is the right prayer. In Scripture grace and mercy and peace often go together. Grace is receiving good we do not deserve. Mercy is not receiving the judgment we do deserve. When we pray have mercy upon me, O God, we are not asking for justice, for justice alone would leave us without hope. We are asking God to withhold what is deserved and to show His tender compassion. Like the blind men who heard Jesus was passing by and cried out, have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David, we can cry out plainly and persistently for mercy, and Jesus still stands to hear that cry.

At the same time Scripture reminds us that mercy is not something we can demand. God said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Mercy flows from His sovereign heart. That truth keeps us humble, but it also gives us hope, because He delights to show mercy. Through the prophet Hosea the Lord said there would be a time of no more mercy for those who persisted in rebellion, yet He also promised restoration, saying I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy, and I will say to those who were not my people, you are my people. What was lost can be restored by His mercy. That is what happened at the cross, where mercy and truth met together and righteousness and peace embraced in Jesus Christ. Because Jesus, the Son of God, was given as the sacrifice, mercy can be extended to us and remain true and righteous.

We also remember how Scripture speaks of a father's love for a son. Just as Abraham was called to offer Isaac, his only son whom he loved, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. The Father knows the love you have for your son, and He has shown His own love by giving Jesus to bear our sin and to bring us from darkness into light. And because He loves His children, He also corrects them. As a father corrects the son in whom he delights, the Lord disciplines those He receives. This does not mean He delights in pain, but that He uses even hard consequences to turn hearts, to teach wisdom, and to lead toward life. For your son, a new place to live and a chance to work are real mercies, and any just consequence the court may require can also be part of God's loving work to bring lasting change, not merely a temporary escape.

So we will pray with you. We ask the Lord to have mercy on your son and to grant him deep healing from the trauma of assault and robbery. We ask for wisdom and fairness and compassion for the judge and prosecutor, that truth would be upheld and mercy would have its place. We ask above all that your son would turn fully to Jesus Christ for salvation and for a new path, that he would receive counsel, walk in honesty, and find strength to leave old patterns behind. We ask that his housing would be stable and that work would be provided according to God's will.

And we pray for you, that God would give you His peace that guards heart and mind, that He would grant you rest and sleep and strength to eat and to endure, and that He would surround you with fellowship in the body of Christ. Joy is made full as we walk together with the Father and with His Son and with one another, not alone in sorrow.

May the Lord who is plenteous in mercy and truth turn to you, have mercy upon you, give you His strength day by day, and keep you and your son and your new granddaughter in His care. We trust Him to do what is right and merciful, and to make you both vessels of honor for His service as you trust Him.
