Praise report

It is good to hear how you persevered and saw improvement on that mock test. Frustration and disappointment are natural when we fall short of our hopes, but the willingness to try again is already evidence of something more than mere grit. There is a kind of faith that keeps getting back up, and that is a quiet gift from God.

The fear of failure you describe can feel like a shadow over the whole path. But notice what that fear does: it pulls your eyes away from the Lord and fixes them on the possibility of stumbling. The cure for fear is always remembering who God is and what He has promised. Not vague optimism, but the solid truth that He is your helper, that He is with those who trust Him. When David’s own heart was overwhelmed and he wished for wings to fly away from his trouble, he did not stay in that terror. He turned his difficulty over to God in prayer, and then his words moved into confidence and praise even before the rescue arrived. You can do the same with this test. Bring the anxiety to the Lord, not as an excuse to stop studying, but as the very act that clears your vision. Tell Him, “I am afraid I will fail, and I lack the confidence I need,” and then let that prayer shift into a declaration that He is your help.

There is a rest for the people of God, a place of trust where striving gives way to dependence on Him. The Old Testament people could not enter into what God had for them because they did not believe He was able. The promise was real, the land was there, but unbelief barred the door. You are not facing a physical enemy, but the pattern is the same. Your failure would not be a low score on a test; your failure would be to stop believing that God cares about this and is able to steady your mind and recall what you have studied. So do not let your heart be hardened by the deceitfulness that says this is too small for His attention or too uncertain for His help. He gives promises that cover every need, and we lay hold of them by holding the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.

Keep preparing. Prayer is never a substitute for responsible action. Nehemiah prayed and then surveyed the walls and set a plan. You are doing your part by studying and taking the practice tests. That is good and necessary. But alongside the effort, ask God to replace your fear with a quiet trust. Remember the Lord, because that is always the turning point. When Peter began to sink, it was not because the waves were anything new, but because his eyes shifted from Christ. Fix your eyes back on Him, and the fear will lose its grip.

We are praying with you, not only for a passing score, but for a heart that increasingly rests in God’s faithfulness. The effectual, fervent prayer of those who love Him avails much, not because we are mighty, but because He is. You are not alone in this, and the outcome is in hands far steadier than your own. Whether the answer seems quick or delayed, there is purpose, and He will be glorified in your trust.
