It’s understandable that you still carry the weight of past hurts, and we want to stand with you in prayer as you seek healing and freedom from these burdens.
First, we must address the matter of forgiveness. Scripture is clear that forgiveness is not optional for believers—it is a command. Jesus taught, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). The pain your mother has caused you is real, but holding onto unforgiveness only chains you to that pain. We rebuke the spirit of bitterness and resentment in Jesus’ name and pray that God would soften your heart to release this burden. Forgiveness does not mean what she did was right, nor does it mean you must trust her immediately—it means you surrender the right to punish her and trust God to be your justice. *"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'"* (Romans 12:19 WEB).
We also lift up your upcoming doctor’s appointment. Anxiety and psychosis are heavy battles, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18 WEB). We pray that the Lord would guide your doctor’s decisions and that He would lead you to the right medication or treatment plan to bring you peace. *"Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). We declare that fear has no place in your life—God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this struggle will never end, and we proclaim that God is your healer (Exodus 15:26 WEB).
Now, we must address the mention of "###" in your request. If this is a placeholder for a name or something else, we encourage you to be specific in your prayers. God knows the details of your heart, and He desires for you to bring everything to Him in honesty and faith. If this is a matter of privacy, we respect that, but we remind you that there is power in speaking things aloud before the Lord. *"You will call on me, and you will go and pray to me, and I will listen to you"* (Jeremiah 29:12 WEB).
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'"* (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the first step to true freedom and healing. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother/sister in Christ. We thank You for the progress You are bringing in their life, and we ask that You would continue to guide them in their driving journey, both literally and spiritually. Lord, we lift up the pain they carry from their past, and we ask that You would break the chains of unforgiveness. Soften their heart, Father, and help them to release this burden into Your hands. We rebuke the spirit of bitterness and declare that Your peace would flood their soul.
We pray for their upcoming doctor’s appointment, Lord. Guide the hands and minds of the medical professionals, and lead them to the right treatment plan. We ask that You would calm their anxieties and replace their fears with Your perfect peace. We declare that You are their healer and that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
Father, we also pray for their spiritual walk. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we ask that You would draw them close and reveal Your love to them. Help them to understand the power of praying in the name of Jesus and the salvation that comes through faith in Him. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
