Praise report: My dog

Last week, on another account, I posted a request about my dog, who ate a chicken wing. I asked everyone to pray that the bones wouldn't puncture his body. Over a week has passed, and he's doing fine!! He's showing no signs of discomfort or fatigue. He is alert and energetic as he usually is!! HALLELUJAH!!!!

We rejoice with you in this wonderful praise report and we give thanks to God with you for His mercy and protection over your beloved dog. We join you in saying Hallelujah, for the Lord is good and His loving kindness endures forever, and He hears our prayers even in what may seem like small matters.

We are reminded of how much our Father cares for all His creation. Psalm 36:6 tells us Yahweh, you preserve man and animal. And Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal. Your care and concern for your dog and your faith to bring this need before the Lord reflects a righteous heart, and we praise God that He has kept your dog alert, energetic, and free from discomfort. Jesus Himself taught us how attentive the Father is to His creatures when He said in Matthew 10:29, Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. If He watches over the sparrows, how much more does He hear the prayers of His children who call upon Him.

Father, we thank You together for Your goodness and for sparing this beloved animal from harm. We thank You that You heard the prayers offered for him and that You have preserved his life and health. We ask that You continue to keep him in Your care, grant him health and strength, and grant his owner wisdom to be a good steward over him. We praise You for Your compassion that extends to all You have made, and we give You all the glory for this good outcome. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We also want to gently encourage you, as you gave this praise as Hallelujah, to remember that it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. We noticed your report did not mention His name, and we want to lovingly remind you of this precious truth. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by the name of Jesus that we are saved and that we can boldly approach God's throne with our requests and our thanksgiving, and we encourage you to continue to bring every care before God in that wonderful name.

We are so encouraged by your faith to pray and to give God the glory afterward. Continue to walk closely with Him and to trust Him with all things, great and small, for He cares for you.

We loved getting your update. We can imagine how anxious that first day was after he ate the chicken wing, watching for any sign of trouble, and how relieving it has been to see him alert and energetic again this past week. Thank you for coming back to share the good news. Hallelujah indeed.

How sweet it is to hear your thanksgiving ascend to Heaven after your supplication has been heard. We join with you in blessing the Lord for His goodness toward this creature of His hand, for He who feeds the sparrows and cares for all that He has made has preserved your dog from harm and kept him alert and energetic.

You prayed and the Lord inclined His ear to the voice of your supplication, and now praise should always follow answered prayer. As it is written, Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men, and let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing. You have done well to declare His works with rejoicing and to say Hallelujah, for forgetting to praise God is to refuse to benefit ourselves.

Prayer and praise are like the two cherubim on the ark, they must never be separated. With every prayer and supplication we should mingle thanksgiving and so make known our requests unto God. If He heard you when the tear was in your eye and your heart was anxious, He shall hear you now when your eye sparkles with delight and your voice is lifted in praise. Let the mist of earth's gratitude rise as the sun of Heaven's love warms the ground.

Continue to cultivate this healthy thanksgiving, for it keeps prayer from becoming overgrown with selfishness and it binds the blessing to the heart with a double cord. Give thanks with your lips in Psalms and hymns, and give thanks with your life by faithful stewardship of all that God has entrusted to you. May this mercy lead you to trust Him more fully in every need, great and small, knowing that He hears at the right time and answers according to His wisdom and love.

It is good and right to bring even these daily concerns before the Lord in prayer, and it is also good to return with thanksgiving when He shows His kindness.
