Praise report: My bass player's health

A while back, I urged everyone to pray for the healing of the bass player in my band, who suffered a heart attack 3 months ago, and underwent triple bypass surgery. Now, he's good enough to play again. Though he still cannot lift heavy weights, he has to get other people to do it for them. Praise the Lord that he's okay!!!

We rejoice with you in this wonderful answer to prayer! What a testimony to God’s faithfulness and healing power. The Scriptures declare, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:2-3 WEB). This is a living example of His mercy and grace at work.

We give thanks that your bass player has been restored to strength and can once again use his gifts to serve in music. His progress reminds us that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. Though recovery may still have its challenges, we see His hand moving in this situation. "I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord (Jeremiah 30:17 WEB).

Let this testimony be an encouragement to others to trust in the Lord’s healing power. May your band continue to glorify Him through your music, and may your brother in Christ grow even stronger in faith as he walks this journey of restoration. We also pray for wisdom in his continued care, may he honor the Lord with his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB).

Father, we lift up this dear brother to You in gratitude for Your healing touch. Thank You for answering prayer and for the way You sustain us in our weakness. Continue to strengthen him, both physically and spiritually. May his life and testimony point others to Your goodness. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. Amen.

We were so encouraged to read your praise report. Three months after a heart attack and triple bypass is a long road, and to hear your bass player is well enough to play again is real cause for thanksgiving. We join you in thanking the Lord for sustaining him through surgery and recovery.

It also says a lot that you noticed the detail that he still needs help with heavy lifting. That kind of ongoing care matters. Continuing to have others handle the gear and giving him space to honor his limits is a loving way to protect the progress God has granted. Encouraging him to stay faithful to his follow up care as his doctors advise is a good companion to prayer.

We love how praise like this reminds us that gratitude settles our hearts. You took time to come back and give thanks, and that encourages all of us.

Father, thank You for Your mercy to this man and for the work of healing You have done. We ask You to continue to strengthen his heart, give him wisdom and patience in recovery, and bless this band as they make music together again. Keep him in Your care in the weeks ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We give thanks with you unto the Lord who is good, and whose mercy endureth forever. Your praise report has cheered our hearts, for we remember how you urged prayer for this afflicted man when he was brought so low by that heart attack and the great surgery which followed, and now we hear that the Lord has raised him up again so that he can take his instrument and play.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men, and let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing. What blessed employment this is. The Good Physician has put forth His healing power, and only those who have been healed can tell how tender and how skillful is His hand. We see in this mercy the leaves of the tree which are for the healing of the nations, for even the least thing about Christ is healing virtue, and He can make the life blood to flow anew.

We rejoice that our brother is spared and restored to his place, though his strength is not yet fully returned and he must have others bear the heavy burdens for him. Wonder not if recovery should be slow, for we often find that we do not recover strength very rapidly. As he grows a little stronger and a little stronger, let him acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon his affection and his service. Physical strength is a desirable blessing when it is consecrated to the Lord.

Let this mercy be met with praise not only in private but in the congregation of the people. Come into His presence with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, and let your lips employ psalms and hymns to magnify His name from whose bounty all this goodness flows. Tell abroad what the Lord has done, that others may be encouraged to pray and to trust Him in their own hour of sickness.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will perfect what He has begun, that He will strengthen this dear man fully according to His will, keep his heart in every sense, and grant to him and to you all a deeper healing still, even the forgiveness of sins and the health of the soul which Christ gives with pardon. May this restored strength be spent wholly for His glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We give thanks to God with you for His mercy in restoring your bass player after so great a trial. To hear that after a heart attack and triple bypass surgery three months ago he is now well enough to play again is truly cause for gratitude, and we join you in giving glory to God for this healing.

It is good that you remembered the Lord in the time of sickness and sought prayer, and it is equally good that you now remember Him in health with thanksgiving. Scripture teaches us to offer praise to God not only when we are afflicted but also when we are restored, so that we do not grow slack after recovery but continue to acknowledge every good gift as from His hand. Keep this spirit of thankfulness alive in your hearts, with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God, whether gathered together or in your daily work.

We also thank God for wisdom in his continued recovery. That he still cannot lift heavy weights and needs help from others is not a small matter, but a reminder to walk with patience and care. Pray that he will honor the limits of his body for now, that others will gladly bear that burden for him, and that the Lord will continue to strengthen his heart and grant him full health in due time.

May the Lord who has brought him through surgery and healing keep him, and may your music be used to offer thanksgiving and to encourage others to trust in Christ. We will continue to pray for his complete recovery and for your band as you serve together.

It is wonderful to hear this good news and to join you in giving thanks to God for it. Praise the Lord for His goodness and His wonderful works. He hears our prayers, and that alone is cause for thanksgiving, that the God whose glory is above heaven and earth would hear us when we call on Him.

We should always be careful to give God the praise for the work He does in our lives. You asked for prayer when your friend suffered that heart attack and went through such serious surgery, and now God has shown His mercy and grace in this recovery. Scripture calls us to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and the sacrifice of praise, the fruit of our lips, and to declare His works with rejoicing. Like the one leper who returned to thank Jesus after being healed, we want to be those who do not forget to return and give glory to God.

What you describe is a gracious healing, and every healing process is from His hand. Sometimes healing is immediate and miraculous, sometimes it is gradual, and we do not always understand His ways fully, but we can praise Him for what He has done here. Your friend is breathing, he is living, and he can again take up his stringed instrument. The Psalms call us to praise God with trumpet and harp, with stringed instruments and organs, with loud cymbals, and to let everything that has breath praise the Lord. How fitting that a bass player, who makes music on strings, is now able again to make music. Praise Him in His sanctuary and in the firmament of His power, praise Him for His mighty acts and according to His excellent greatness, praise Him for His mercy which endures forever and for His love that has been poured out on us.

Thank Him not only privately but openly among the people, in the assembly, telling what the Lord has done. And continue to bring your friend before the Lord, asking for complete strength to be restored in the months ahead and for protection over his heart, and for grace as others help him with what he cannot yet lift. May your hearts be filled with continual praise and thanksgiving as you see His hand at work, and may your music be an offering of gratitude to the One who is worthy of all praise.
