Praise report for woman

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Praise report for woman. She has lost taste for smoking cigarettes. She said she didn't want to smoke much anymore. She still has off and on issues with drinking alcohol that's she's trying to quit. Her and her oldest son's father is both trying to quit drinking.

We rejoice with you in this praise report! What a beautiful testimony of God’s transforming power at work in this woman’s life. The fact that she has lost her taste for smoking cigarettes is a clear sign of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and deliverance. We give all glory to God, for it is He who breaks the chains of addiction and sets the captives free.

We acknowledge that the battle with alcohol remains, but we take heart in knowing that she and her son’s father are both seeking to quit. This is not a struggle they face alone, God is with them, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). The enemy may try to whisper lies of defeat, but we declare that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Let us pray together for this woman and her family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the victory You have already begun in this woman’s life. We thank You for breaking the grip of smoking and for the desire You have placed in her heart to turn away from alcohol. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen her resolve and fill her with Your Holy Spirit, who gives power to overcome every temptation. We pray for her son’s father as well, that You would grant him the same strength and conviction to walk away from alcohol. Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare freedom over their lives. Surround them with godly support, encouragement, and accountability. Let them experience the fullness of Your peace and joy as they walk in obedience to You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Deliverer and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage this woman to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to immerse herself in His Word, for it is the truth that sets us free (John 8:32). She should also surround herself with believers who can walk alongside her in this journey, offering prayer, encouragement, and accountability. The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Let her remember that God’s grace is sufficient for her, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

If she has not yet surrendered her life fully to Jesus Christ, we urge her to do so now. It is only through a personal relationship with Him that true and lasting transformation is possible. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). If she has not confessed Him as Lord and Savior, we invite her to pray a simple prayer of faith, asking Him to forgive her sins and come into her heart. Salvation is a gift, not earned by works, but received by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

We also encourage her to consider the impact of her choices on her son. Children learn by example, and her pursuit of holiness will not only bless her own life but also set a godly foundation for him. Let her lean on the Lord for strength and trust that He is working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).

Continue to press into God, dear sister. He is faithful, and He will not let you go.

What a gift to hear she’s lost her taste for smoking, that’s a real mercy, and we’re glad to celebrate it with you. We also hear the weight of the drinking struggle, and we know that kind of battle doesn’t usually let go in a straight line. The off-and-on pattern is so common, and it can be exhausting. It’s encouraging that both she and her oldest son’s father are trying to quit; when two people share the same fight, there can be a quiet steadiness in that, even when it’s messy.

One thing that often helps in these seasons is not trying to muscle through alone. A Christian recovery group like Celebrate Recovery, or simply a wise, trusted friend who can check in regularly, can make the difference between a slip and a full slide back. Sometimes just knowing someone is praying with her on the hard days, not judging but simply being there, can steady a shaky step. The fact that she wants to quit, and that the pull toward cigarettes has already loosened, tells us something real is shifting. That’s worth holding onto.

Let’s pray.

Lord Jesus, we thank you for this woman and for the freedom she’s already tasting. We ask you to continue what you’ve started, to weaken the grip of alcohol in her life and in the life of her son’s father. Give them both courage to keep reaching for help, and surround them with people who will walk this road with patience and hope. Protect their health, steady their minds, and let your kindness meet them in every small victory. In your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The report of a lost taste for tobacco is a slender thread, yet it may be the first stitch in a garment of renewed strength. Wonder not if recovery should be slow, and, as you grow a little stronger, and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. Do not let this mercy slip unheeded; He who stilled one craving can conquer the other as well.

But what of the wine cup that still tempts? Do not be deceived into thinking it a path to life or a prop for your heaviness. It is not new vigor the bottle pours into the soul but a painted fire that leaves the hearth cold when the flame dies. To arouse yourselves with drink is to dig a well that holds no water; the Spirit of God alone can fill the emptiness that sends a man groping for the glass. Be not drunk with wine, wherein is riot, but seek to be filled with the Spirit. Quit yourselves like men, stand fast for God and holiness. You will be filled with the Spirit if you are obedient to Him.

Let the Book speak into this struggle, for it will teach you how to bear your present burdens and quit all needless cares. Speak of His help as freely as you once reached for the bottle, and let the craving be drowned in praise, not in liquor. The enemy would have you stumble back into the mire, but every hour you resist, you declare that the living God has set His hand upon you. What is needed is that you come to a turning point, quit your decays, and strengthen the things that remain. Lean wholly upon Christ, and let no partnership in the fight become a quiet approval of what God forbids; salvation is His alone, and He calls you to walk in His ways with clean hands.

A great good has been wrought in her soul, that the taste for smoke has grown bitter and the desire withered like a leaf. This is no small mercy, but a beam of that deliverance which Christ proclaims to the captives, loosing the bonds of carnal longing. For the prophets declared He would divide the spoils of the strong, and here we see the first fruits of that triumph in her flesh. The snare of nicotine, which held so many in thrall, He begins to strip of its power through the mere turning of her will.

Yet the craving for strong drink still crouches at the door, and she must learn the deeper lesson, that evil is stayed not by adding more, but by taking away. Some seek to quench an absurd thirst by pouring in further drafts of their poison, but the only cure is to convince the mind that these things are filthy and empty, and to fix the eyes on what is truly good. She has tasted the misery of drunkenness, and now sees its chains. Let her not be disheartened that the battle remains joined, for it is sometimes granted us to die daily in the struggle, and that is a greater gift than swift deliverance. For by bearing the heat of this conflict thankfully, and despising the shame of it, she may yet obtain the spoils of this adversary also, when her heart is proved and her trust made perfect.

If she and the child’s father both wrestle nobly, let them then give heed to His purposes in the waiting. What is hidden is often richer than what is quickly given. She must recall how she was once blinded wholly, that the desire seemed sweet. Now that the beam begins to be drawn from her eye, she perceives the fog for what it was. But the remaining clouds are part of the surgery. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. The taste for smoke did not depart by her own straining, but by the inward working of the Spirit. Let her stand firm in that pattern, and let the same patience be brought against the bottle. For we were called out of all such carnal fumblings to receive the adoption of sons, and this Father knoweth how to train His children through lingering trials, that they might learn to despise the false comforts and lay hold on the better resurrection.

What a cause for praise this is! We rejoice with you over the work God is doing in her life. To lose the taste for cigarettes is no small thing, it is a mighty act of God’s mercy, and we give Him thanks for it. Truly, He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry with goodness. Let this victory be a reminder that His power is greater than any chain, and His faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

But the report also mentions the ongoing struggle with alcohol, and that she and the father of her oldest son are both trying to quit drinking. Here is where the sacrifice of praise must be offered by faith. Praise is not only for the finished triumph; it is also for the promise that He who began a good work will carry it to completion. When the battle is still raging and the flesh is weak, we lift our voices anyway. We praise Him not because the storm is over, but because He is in the storm with us, and His mercy is as high as the heavens above the earth.

The Psalms call us to make His praise glorious. Let the people praise You, O God; let all the people praise You. So we do not wait for complete deliverance to give thanks. Our praise rises now, declaring that Jesus is the great High Priest who intercedes on our behalf, and His grace is sufficient. Praise Him for the progress made, and for the strength He will continue to supply. Even when praise feels difficult, it is precisely then that it becomes a sacrifice, a fruit of lips that trust His promises.

Remind her that the Lord is near to those who call on Him. Offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving continually. The struggle does not define her; the faithfulness of God does. We stand with you, lifting our hearts in praise for what He has done and what He is yet doing. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

We are truly grateful that you shared this praise report with us, and we rejoice with you in the answered prayer regarding the loss of desire for smoking. What a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness and power at work in her life! We give Him all the glory for this breakthrough and continue to stand with you both in prayer as she seeks freedom from alcohol as well.

It is so encouraging to hear that she and her oldest son’s father are both pressing in to overcome this struggle together. We will keep lifting them up, asking the Lord to strengthen their resolve, break every chain, and fill them with His peace and self-control. May He grant them victory in every area and draw them closer to Him through this journey.

If there are new developments or specific needs along the way, please share them so we can continue to intercede. We are here to pray in agreement with you, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this testimony of His grace.

May the Lord bless you both abundantly as you walk in His will and trust in His perfect timing. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
