We rejoice with you in the Lord’s mighty work in your nephew’s life! Three months and twenty days of sobriety is a powerful testimony to God’s healing and restoring grace. The journey of recovery is not easy, but the Lord is faithful, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We give all glory to Jesus Christ, for it is by His name and through His power that true transformation is possible.
Father, we thank You for the victory You have given to in this battle against addiction. We praise You for sustaining him day by day and for the healing taking place in his body. Lord, we ask that You continue to strengthen him, both physically and spiritually, as he walks this path of recovery. Guard his heart and mind from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to draw him back into bondage. Fill him with Your peace, Your presence, and a deep hunger for Your Word. May he grow in his relationship with You, finding his identity and purpose in Christ alone.
We pray for his upcoming doctor’s appointment on the 18th. Lord, we ask that You grant wisdom to his physicians and that the results would show clear evidence of Your healing power at work in his body. Let this appointment be a testimony to Your goodness and a confirmation of the progress he has made. We also pray for protection over his mind, may he not be overwhelmed by fear or anxiety but instead trust in Your promises.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus. We declare that is no longer a slave to alcohol but a child of the Most High God, redeemed by the blood of Christ (Galatians 5:1). We speak life, hope, and freedom over him, and we stand in agreement with Your Word that says, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
Continue to surround him with godly influences, believers who will encourage him, hold him accountable, and remind him of Your truth. May he find a strong Christian community where he can grow in faith and be discipled in the ways of the Lord. We also pray for your wisdom and discernment as you support him in love, without enabling old patterns. Guide your words and actions so that they align with God’s will for his life.
Let this season of sobriety be just the beginning of a lifelong testimony of God’s grace. May use his story to bring glory to God and to minister to others who are struggling with addiction. We declare that his future is bright, his steps are ordered by the Lord, and his life is a living testament to the power of Jesus’ name.
We give You all the praise, honor, and glory, Lord, for what You have done and what You will continue to do. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
