You may remember that I had asked for prayers for someone to pay me back the money that they owed me so that I could pay my bills. Today was the cutoff date for getting my mortgage paid I woke up to the sound of my doorbell ringing and she was standing there with a check for me. I was able to get it cashed and get my mortgage paid up for now. I am sooooo thankful. It was the last day that I could pay and they even took off the late fee for me. Praise God for answering this prayer. It really came down to last minute and it was like a miracle that it came. And I want to thank all of you for helping me pray.
I was very relieved when this happened and could finally breathe. Unfortunately this only lasted a couple hours.
On Monday I got a surprise phone call from my lawyers office. They said that the insurance company had advanced a portion of my money since I had been waiting so long and so that I can have some money until they get the rest of the case settled. This is highly unusual for an insurance company to do and I could only think that this was yet another answer to my prayers about the financial difficulties that I have been experiencing.
Today I was supposed to sign the paperwork so that the lawyers office could cut the check for me. They called me today and told me that a medical imaging center is trying to bill me for a bill back in 2005. I dealt with this back then because they were supposed to bill my medical insurance and didn't. It was removed from my credit report and I never heard from them again. Now all of a sudden they are saying that I owe this money again and that it is now double the amount that it originally was because of interest. I have no documentation or proof that they were paid back then, but I was sure that it had been since they stopped calling me and had removed the account from the credit bureaus and my previous lawyer told me not to worry about it anymore.
We (myself and the lawyers assistant) tried to call this collection agency and the person that we talked to was very volitile with us. She was rude, she yelled at us and would not listen to our side of the story. We were simply asking for a statement so that we could look it over, yet she would not send it to us unless I signed something agreeing to pay it. We do not want to do this because we do not agree with the amount. Because of this the lawyer cannot give me the money that I was supposed to receive. He has to hold it until this is resolved because understandibly he does not want to be held liable since he is my lawyer for this incident. I was really depending on this money coming in so that I could take care of October's bills. I cannot afford to have this held up. The lawyers assistant said that she would have the laywer himself call them tomorrow to get this resolved. I pray that he is able to get this taken care of and that they do not put this back on my credit report and do not hold up my money any longer. I just pray that this whole mess goes away. I am left wondering why it seemed as though God had answered my prayers and then took it away. Did I do something wrong? Should I be looking at this in a different light? I'm feeling a bit discouraged now.
Sorry for the extremely long posting here. Thank you so much for your prayers. They help sooooo much. May God bless you all.
