MSC Prayers

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me. I’m not sure what to do, and in all honesty, I’m not sure if, other than praying if there’s anything that I could or should do. May God’s Will Be Done. All I can say is God Is Great! Let’s just say, the culmination of over ### years of very stupid Very foolish lifestyle choices over the years nearly killed me about ### years ago. I was a Backslidden (for over ### years) Christian who was also a very Functional Alcoholic, who generally consumed about ### quart of ‘High-Test’ booze on a daily basis. I was also tipping the scales at about ### or so pounds. “I’m alive today, and I was alive back then, all ‘By The Grace of God!’” I honestly don’t know what I was thinking, when it comes to not only alcohol abuse, but the use of ‘illicit’ and ‘dangerous’ street drugs (primarily cocaine ‘Coke’ and later methamphetamines ‘Speed’). I regret to admit; I idiotically operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of the street drugs and the alcohol too. Along with that, I was a ‘Pimp’ and a ‘Panderer’ for quite a while, and I provided ‘Transportation’ to my so-called ‘girlfriend’ at the time who was a cheap ‘Prostitute’ and a ‘Heroin Addict’ in the ### area quite some time ago. Please pray for her and her family…… Before that, I was a ‘Thief’ who, I sadly confess, I ‘successfully’ embezzled a very large some of money from a ‘Community College’ event over a number of years. I can’t even imagine how much money I stole. May God Have Mercy on my soul…. As I previously mentioned, I nearly died about ### years ago. Now, I’m alive, I’m sober, I’m physically and mentally disabled, and I’m pretty much ‘Broke’ (financially). None of it bothers me. Why? Because, if you consider all the dangerous, and foolish, and stupid, and idiotic things I did between the time I was born, and the time I was nearly dead in the hospital, I’m alive today, BY THE GRACE OF GOD!!! Praise The Lord! Thank You Jesus! Praise God! Glory To God! Thank You Father! God Is Great! My life choices, before I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, my life choices, after I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and my life choices after I turn my back on Jesus Christ who is my personal Lord and Savior, and my life choices after I nearly died and rededicated my personal life to Jesus Christ who is my Faithful personal Lord and Savior. All I can say is that throughout my entire life, I blew it, again and again, and again. But guess what? Our Heavenly Father, my personal Lord and Savior, with the Help of The Holy Spirit has kept me alive and placed me in a facility which is owned and run by Born Again Christians. I’m probably stuck here. Why? Because God Knows how easily I am distracted from Him, His Will, and His Love. May God’s Will Be Done. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

We rejoice with you and praise God with you for His amazing grace and mercy in your life. Your testimony is a powerful picture of how far God's grace can reach and how faithfully He pursues us even when we turn away from Him. What you describe is indeed by the grace of God alone that you are alive, sober, and restored to fellowship with Jesus Christ.

We hear your honest confession about the years of backsliding, functional alcoholism, drug abuse, drunk driving, pimping and pandering, fornication, and embezzlement from the community college. We must speak plainly that all of these things are sin before a holy God and they bring death and destruction. The Word says, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23. To provide transportation for a woman to commit prostitution and to profit from it is sexual immorality and exploitation, and God calls us to flee sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. To steal is to break God's command, You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15, and to operate a vehicle while intoxicated put not only your life but the lives of others in grave danger. We rebuke that former way of life as you yourself now do, yet we also rejoice that you have confessed it openly, for He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13.

We thank God that you have accepted and now rededicated your life to Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, for there is no other way to be forgiven and saved. As you know, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. And, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. Because you are in Christ, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1.

We understand you are not sure what to do now, and you pray for God's will to be done. That is the right heart. We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. Remaining in the facility run by born again Christians where you are protected from distraction may very well be God's gracious provision for you in this season, as you said. He knows your weakness and His grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Use this time to be rooted in the Word daily, in prayer, in fellowship, and under godly counsel.

Concerning the large sum you embezzled, we encourage you as a new creation to walk in the light and to make restitution where it is possible, as God gives you opportunity and wisdom. Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. Ephesians 4:28. Remember Zacchaeus who stood and said, Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much. Luke 19:8. We encourage you to seek wise, godly counsel and pastoral guidance about how to confess this to the appropriate authorities and to seek to make what amends you can, even if you are now broke and disabled. God honors a broken and contrite heart and an honest desire to do what is right, and Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19.

We also lift up before the Lord the woman you mentioned who was caught in prostitution and heroin addiction, and her family, that God would have mercy on her and draw her to repentance and salvation as He has done for you.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your grace that has kept our brother alive through so many foolish and dangerous choices, through alcohol and drug abuse, through immorality and theft, and through a near death that should have taken his life. We praise You that Your gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus is greater than the wages of sin, and that You are faithful to forgive and cleanse all who confess. Father, we thank You for delivering him from addiction and for placing him in a Christian facility where he can be discipled and protected. We ask that You make Your will for his life unmistakably clear, that You give him wisdom, peace, and contentment in his disability and financial need, and that You use his testimony to bring others out of darkness. Teach him to walk in newness of life, to be sober and self-controlled, for do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18. Grant him courage to make restitution as You lead, and to walk humbly and honestly before You and before men. We pray for the woman he mentioned and her family, that You would rescue her from addiction and immorality and bring her to salvation. Keep him close to You, guard his mind and heart in Christ Jesus, and let him know daily that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness. May Your will be done in his life, for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We were so moved reading your story and hearing the joy in your thanksgiving. What a testimony of God's mercy that you are alive, sober, and walking with Jesus again after all you have been through. We thank God with you for that grace.

We hear how honestly you look back on those years, the alcohol and drugs, the harm done to others and to yourself, the embezzlement, and how close you came to losing your life. And we hear the wonder in your voice now, that even while you live with disability and with little financially, you have peace because you know you have been bought back and given a new life. That peace is a gift.

We are also grateful you are in a place run by believers who can walk alongside you day by day. God knows our need for steady support, and He often provides it through the people right around us. If you have not already, we encourage you to keep sharing openly with a trusted pastor or staff member there, letting them know how you are doing and allowing them to pray with you and help you stay anchored.

We are praying for the woman you mentioned and her family too, as you asked.

Father, thank You for this brother's life, for sparing him and drawing him back to Yourself. Thank You for his sobriety and for the home You have provided. Give him continued strength, clear mind, and joy in following You each day. Lead him according to Your perfect will, and use his story to encourage others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dude, can I be honest?

You are forgiven. Jesus has changed you for good. Even if you stumble back on sin like we all do, you are new.

I did something 100x worse than what you did. I can't even say it that's how bad it is. Jesus forgave me. So he will forgive you too.

I am really ashamed of what I did, but I know I am forgiven. It takes a leap of faith to forgive yourself. But, I forgive myself.

I pray that you can forgive yourself for what you have done. I pray that you can grow in faith. Jesus loves you dearly, and he forgives you. You are a really cool dude👍 God bless you, in Jesus name, amen!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your testimony has caused my heart to praise God with you, for you declare plainly that you are alive today by the grace of God alone, and in that confession there is true hope. You have not minimized the exceeding sinfulness of the life you have lived, the drunkenness and the use of dangerous drugs, the driving under their influence, the pandering and the traffic in prostitution, the theft and embezzlement from others. To call these things stupid and foolish and idiotic is right, for sin is folly before a holy God, and to judge yourself and put in a plea of guilty is the way of mercy. He that confesseth his sin shall find mercy, and the promise stands, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Hear the good news which you yourself have professed, that we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. Redemption and forgiveness are bound together so that they appear as one thing. The forgiveness is not only in His office and His work, but in Himself. When you get Christ, you have redemption, for He is redemption. This forgiveness is not a future hope only, but a present possession. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. We have it now. And this forgiveness which God has given us for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness. He will never rake up our past offences and a second time impute them. Jehovah will never require the debt to be paid twice. If you have been the chief of sinners, you may have the chief of sinners forgiveness, and God can bestow it now through the atonement which covers all your guilt. If by faith you believe in the sin forgiving God and accept that matchless atonement, then you are even now among the blessed, for blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity.

You speak of being backslidden and then nearly dead, and now sober and alive by grace, and you pray, Thy will be done. That prayer, when it comes from the heart, is both your comfort and your safeguard. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, as certainly as it is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act, so in grace we may rest assured that He is King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. You are right to see His hand in keeping you alive and in placing you where you now dwell among those who know Christ. Though the will of man is not ignored, and men are not saved against their wills, the work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will, and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.

You say you are now disabled in body and mind, and broke, and probably stuck where you are, and yet none of it greatly moves you because you are kept by grace. That is a flower of heaven, for contentment in all states is not a natural propensity of man. Covetousness, discontent and murmuring are as natural to man as thorns are to the soil, but contentment must be cultivated. You will remember that we pray each morning, Thy will be done, and we must not belie our own prayers by murmuring when that will appoints a low place or a narrow room. There is nothing in hunger or thirst or nakedness or peril to invite contentment in itself, but there is everything in Christ to content the soul that has Him. Be not idle where you are, but seek to serve the Lord in your humble sphere, and cultivate contentment as one who knows that to do the will of God is the best profit. You will never be happy till self is dethroned, and you will never be at peace till you yield unconditionally to the whispers of the Holy Spirit, throwing down your weapons and surrendering at discretion to Him who says, Go in peace, there is peace between me and thee.

A word concerning the past wrongs. The Lord who forgives will also make the forgiven man honest. If you desire one sin to live, you will not live yourself. Guile must be forsaken when guilt is forgiven. If there remains any practical restitution that can be made concerning what was embezzled, seek godly counsel among the brethren where you are, and as God gives you ability and opportunity, do what is just and right as a fruit of repentance, not to purchase pardon, for pardon is already purchased by blood, but to show that the change of heart is real. And concerning the woman of whom you spoke and her family, we will pray not that God would bless that former way of sin, for He cannot bless what He calls unholy, but that He would have mercy upon her soul, bring her to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, and deliver her from the bondage of heroin and prostitution, which are chains that destroy both body and soul. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all sexual union and living together belongs within it, and outside of it there is only sin and sorrow, from which Christ came to save us.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we thank Thee for Thy great grace which has kept this Thy servant alive when sin and folly would have brought him to the grave. We bless Thee for redemption through the blood of Jesus and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of Thy grace. Apply that blood afresh to his conscience, and give him the full assurance that Thou hast blotted out his transgressions and wilt not remember his sins, and wilt not require the debt twice. Keep him sober and keep him near Thee, for Thou knowest how easily he is distracted. Make him willing in the day of Thy power, and teach him to be content in whatsoever state Thou dost appoint, saying from the heart, Thy will be done. Provide for his daily needs, use him where Thou hast placed him to bear witness to Thy saving power, and keep him looking unto Jesus, his faithful Lord and Savior, till Thou shalt call him home. Have mercy also upon the woman for whom he asks prayer and upon her family, and bring her also to the knowledge of Thy Son, that she may be washed and cleansed and made new. We ask this not for our worthiness, but for Jesus sake, in whom we have redemption. Amen.
