Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this praise and these requests. We rejoice with you that the Lord has brought relief from the migraine and we thank Him with you for the care you received. All healing comes from Him, and we are grateful when He works through the hands of doctors and nurses to bring mercy and help in a moment of need.
We join you in prayer for your son. We will ask the Lord to grant him favor in his interview and to open the door that is according to His perfect will. More than outward appearance or even employment, our greatest prayer is what you have already asked, that he would follow Jesus Christ and live in obedience to Him. Scripture shows us the depth of a father's love for his son, and it points us to the greater love of our Heavenly Father who gave His only Son for us. That love is the foundation of salvation and of a life that walks in His way, and we will pray that your son comes to know it more deeply and to order his life by it.
We also stand with you in your desire to gather with God's people. The pattern given to us in the book of Acts shows us what God intends His church to be, a people marked by love, by purity, by discernment that does not tolerate evil, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. That power was not meant for only one moment in history. The lack of power is not the Lord's failure, but often comes when compromise or hypocrisy is allowed to remain. When what is impure is put away and love is restored, the church knows His presence and strength. History also shows that persecution has never destroyed the true church, but being embraced by the world and becoming like the world has weakened its witness. The enemy will try to hinder, but he cannot overcome a people who walk in love and truth and who keep close to Christ who is the head of His body.
So we pray for you now. Father, we thank You for Your mercy in healing and for Your provision in small and large things. We ask for Your hand upon this son, for wisdom and favor in his interview, and above all for his heart to be drawn fully to Jesus and to follow Him in every area of life. We ask for protection and strength for his mother, that no attack of the enemy would keep her from fellowship, but that she would be encouraged and upheld and find in the gathering of believers the love and truth and power You intend. Keep her and her family close to You, and let Your will be done in all things. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
