Good Morning Family,
"You were taught, with regards to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds." - Ephesians 4:22-23
We can go into the subject of this New Year 2009 and the dreaded New Year's Resolution. The New Year's Resolution of wanting to change, do things better, do more, be more responsible...more, more, more. We often wait until the New Year to make changes but...
This should not be the case, we cannot wait for a New Year to make the changes that are necessary for us to live spirit-filled, healthy and wholesome lives. Each and everyday we must make the decision to change how we see our circumstances. Not everyday in 2009 is going to go your way....
One may experience downsizing from the job...one may experience pain in the body...one may experience difficulty in a relationship...one may experience financial distress...one may experience hater-ration from others...but...
The choice is each and everyday, we can say..."This is the Day that the Lord has made and I choose to rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)" Here are 3 points that will enable us to make the necessary changes from 2009 and beyond:
1. No more excuses...Let us make no more excuses...no more elaboration needed...
2. Tell the truth...Declare to tell the truth at all times...
3. Be one who encourages and not a discourages... Be encouraging and offer words that lift up and not tear down....
This year will be different when we make the change to make it different.
We want God's best but do we really want the change that is necessary...?
It is up to you...
