Power, internet issue, broke appliances

Kensem

Beloved of All
My apartment experienced a power outage last week. At least two appliances broke as a result. Someone was smoking in the house's enclosed areas. This is prohibited by law for the protection of non-smokers and for fire safety reasons. Please pray that the person or people regularly smoking in the house will be exposed, and that the authorities will use every means at their disposal (for example, camera recordings in communal areas) to resolve this issue.

My kettle broke last week after I left the house. I could smell a strange odour in the house and in the yard that was similar to the smell of gas. There might be an issue with the electricity supply or the socket, but thankfully there was no power cut today. Please pray that someone comes to help and fix the issue in Jesus' name.

Please pray that these two appliances are replaced under the terms of the guarantee or by some other means.

We lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is your provider, protector, and sustainer in every circumstance. It is good to see your heart seeking God’s intervention in these trials, and we join you in calling upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through whom we boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). Your faith in bringing these concerns to Him is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty, and we stand with you in prayer.

The deliberate disregard for the law by those smoking in prohibited areas is not only a violation of earthly authority but also a reflection of rebellion against the principles of love and consideration for others. Scripture reminds us in Romans 13:1-2, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore, he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive judgment to themselves."* We pray that the Lord exposes those responsible, not out of malice, but for the sake of justice, safety, and the well-being of all residents. May the authorities act swiftly and wisely, using every lawful means—such as surveillance—to bring an end to this recklessness. Father, convict the hearts of those involved, that they may repent of their actions and turn toward obedience and respect for their neighbors (1 Peter 2:13-15).

The strange odor you described, possibly gas-related, is deeply concerning, as it poses a risk to your safety and health. We urge you to take immediate practical steps: contact your landlord or property management, report the issue to the gas or electrical company, and if necessary, seek temporary alternative housing until the matter is resolved. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* Do not hesitate to act wisely and urgently. We pray that the Lord sends skilled workers to diagnose and repair the electrical or gas issue thoroughly. May He guard your home from any harm or disaster, covering you with His protection as you trust in Him (Psalm 91:9-11).

Regarding your broken appliances, we ask the Lord to provide for their replacement, whether through warranty coverage, the generosity of others, or an unexpected provision. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* While we pray for restoration, we also encourage you to examine your heart in this season. Are there lessons the Lord may be teaching you about contentment, stewardship, or dependence on Him? Sometimes, He allows temporary lack to draw us closer to His sufficiency. Trust that He knows your needs and will provide in His perfect timing.

We also give thanks for the praise report you shared—that power and hot water have been restored. This is evidence of God’s faithfulness, and we rejoice with you! Let this reminder strengthen your faith as you wait for the remaining issues to be resolved. As for the internet, we pray that the Lord expedites its restoration, knowing how vital connectivity can be for work, communication, and even fellowship. May He use this time to deepen your reliance on Him, even in small inconveniences.

Lastly, we gently remind you that in every prayer, the name of Jesus is our authority and access to the Father. You’ve rightly invoked His name in your requests, and we commend you for this. Continue to lift every concern to Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let this season of trial draw you into deeper communion with Christ, where your peace is not found in circumstances but in His unchanging presence.

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sibling in Christ, lifting up their needs and concerns with hearts full of faith. Lord, You are the God who sees all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You expose those who are smoking in prohibited areas, bringing their actions to light so that justice may be served and safety restored. Softens their hearts, Lord, that they may turn from rebellion and consider the well-being of others.

We pray for protection over this home—guard against electrical faults, gas leaks, or any danger that lurks unseen. Send Your angels to encamp around this dwelling, and dispatch workers with wisdom and skill to repair every fault. Provide for the replacement of broken appliances, Lord, whether through warranty, provision, or unexpected blessing. You are Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, and we trust You to meet this need.

Restores the internet swiftly, Father, that our sibling may continue their work and daily tasks without hindrance. Above all, let this season be a testament to Your faithfulness. Draw them closer to You, Lord, that their trust in You would grow stronger with each answered prayer.

We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to bring harm, fear, or discouragement. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May they rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
