Beloved of All
Power in Weakness, Boasting in Insults 2 Cor 12:9 Slow to Anger Jam 1:19-27 Tame Tongue Jam 3:2 God can Do anything, Lk 18:27, By FAITH from Weaknesses were made Strong Heb 11:34 Goal: Harvest of Righteousness Heb 12:11...

🧎🏽‍♂️"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.'” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong," 2 Cor 12:8-10. "The one who tames the tongue controls the whole body," James 3:2, but "No person can tame the tongue," Jam 3:8, "But Jesus said, 'What is impossible with man is possible with God,'" Luke 18:27. "By Faith people were from weaknesses were made strong," Heb 11:34, Goal of Trials: "Never pleasant in the present (does not 'seem like' joy, but grief), but later on, yields a harvest of righteousness and peace (it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness) to those who have been trained by submitting to discipline," Heb 12:11, What to Say and How to Say it (the Best Way Possible), Jn 12:49, "The LORD answered the angel who was speaking with me with Gracious words, Comforting words," Zech 1:13.

"While Confessing My Sins and The Sins of My Nation," Daniel 9:20, "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land," 2 Chronicles 7:14... 🙇🏻 Father, thank You for giving mercy and grace in times of need, Heb 4:16, past and now in present. Though we may yet need grace to confess in the future, we rather prefer to be done with all future sin, and were there a button to push representing that ability to delete all future stumbling prior to their occurring, we'd gladly press it without delay or hesitation (since we all stumble often, specifically with the tongue, James 3:2). Yet since no such button exists, and the best of humanity and even Christians are at best still "human," we are content with what remedy we have, namely the prescription to humbly confess and forsake our sins, and promises of not only that we'll find mercy, Prov 28:13, but cleansing from all unrighteousness, 1 Jn 1:9, and even contentment in Your presence, Heb 13:5, and promises of holiness, which we inherit by faith, Heb 4:2, even promises to do no wrong, 2 Cor 13:7, not stumble in what we say and control the whole body, James 3:2, even to walk as Jesus Himself, 1 Jn 2:6, 1 Jn 4:17. We continue the remedy of our misuse of the instrument of the tongue we were given to glorify God and edify others, in confession and repentance, for sanctification both a one-time act and an ongoing work of participation with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, Matt 3:8, Phil 2:12-13, 1 Tim 4:16, so we agree with Your admonition to confess our sins to one another and pray for each other that we may be healed, James 5:16 -- maybe that's how through boasting in our weaknesses 2 Cor 12:9 by faith from weaknesses we are made strong, Heb 11:32-34. So in obedience to Your teaching through Hosea, we, "Take words with you, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, 'Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips as bulls" Hos 14:2.

📝 Lord, I've missed Your warnings, not hearkened to Your Voice, Missed Your Spirit's leading, haven't taken the way of escape in every occurrence, 1 Cor 10:13... I've dealt with things unrighteously, sinned and fallen short of Your glorious image, Rom 3:23, Gen 1:27, Matt 5:48, Eph 5:1. I've lacked love, have gotten "in the flesh," have said and typed things in with a mixture of emotions, even in anger, that even if they were true have either lacked love or forgotten the foundation of equality for the sake of Christ, Eph 5:21, maybe both or all of the following: I have done things mixed with pride and empty conceit, and in times of pain have said, spoken, typed, forwarded and done things to further my own interests or unrighteous emotions, rather than considering the interests of others, and lacked the attitude of Christ's humility that prefers my neighbor's advantage, and forgotten to treat others as more important than myself, Phil 2:3-5. Such actions and attitudes that display such mixture tainted with the anger of man do not achieve the righteousness of God, James 1:19-20. Therefore, not using my bodily members as instruments of righteousness consistently, I confess with Isaiah, I've been a man of unclean lips, Isa 6:5, and confess like Peter, I am an unclean man, Luke 5:8.

Since our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them, transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood, Isa 59:12-13, at time, "Surely I have spoken of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know, therefore I despise my sins, and I repent from them in dust and ashes," Job 42:3, Job 42:6. Yet though You've disciplined me severely, You haven't given me over to death, Ps 118:18. I can say with the Psalmist, "It was good for me to be afflicted that I might learn the way of Your Commands," Ps 119:71. Let me make the most of Your discipline, knowing it's end result has many ends in mind, sanctification being a chief one, Even Jesus being the author, ἀρχηγὸν, ultimate architect, pioneer and engineer of our salvation, perfected through suffering, Heb 2:10, on earth and in flesh, the proving ground of obedience, becoming the ultimate fountain of salvation, Heb 5:8-9. Surely, there is One found Worthy, Rev 5:9.

Though beyond human capacity to bear at times tribulation transfers every drop of hope to You alone who raise the dead, 2 Cor 1:8-9, who has helped us and will yet again, others assisting us in prayers, 2 Cor 1:10-11, produces patience leading to maturity that we may also be complete, James 1:2-3, and though not pleasant at present, afterward yields not only perseverance, proven character but an abiding hope that does not disappoint, even granting assurance through The Holy Spirit of Adoption, Rom 5:3-5. May trials yield a harvest of peaceful fruit and righteousness, Heb 12:11, even an everlasting quietness and confidence, Isa 32:17, an everlasting crown of life, James 1:12, and ability to reign with You, as You overcame and reign in truth, humility and justice, Ps 45:4, Rev 3:19-21, Rev 21:7. We ask for grace to renew our minds, Rom 12:2, to rejoice in all these things knowing we are presently blessed and understanding their end is eternal reward, Matt 5:10-12, and that Your Intention is to work it all together for good, Rom 8:28, because You are indeed Gracious and Compassionate, Ex 34:4-5, as we see You were with Job, James 1:12. Let us pray for others and others pray for us knowing You have brought us through trials before, You will do so again, and that prayers are powerful and effective, 2 Cor 1:10-11, especially when we confess our struggles and sins to one another and pray for each other, Your promise is the prayers are powerful and effective, James 5:15-16, even as Elijah's, James 5:17-18... Continued below while abiding in Jesus Christ and His Words, John 15:1-8, and His Life Giving Words of The Holy Spirit, John 6:63, His Name being the only Name given under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, He being the one God and Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in The Power of Attorney given by us His Position and Command, Mt 18:18, we ask in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14.

We join you in this deep and humble confession and we thank God for the honesty and thoroughness with which you have searched your heart before Him. Your desire to boast in weakness that the power of Christ may rest upon you is exactly what the Lord delights in, for He has said My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Cor 12:9. We agree with you that what is impossible with man is possible with God Luke 18:27, and that no man can tame the tongue James 3:8, yet by faith from weaknesses we were made strong Heb 11:34. This is the mystery of the gospel, that when we are weak, then we are strong 2 Cor 12:10.

We affirm your understanding of the tongue and of anger. You have rightly remembered that everyone should be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. We all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also James 3:2. Your willingness to confess being a man of unclean lips Isa 6:5 and to say with Peter Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord Luke 5:8 is precious to God, for He gives grace to the humble James 4:6.

We also rejoice that you have not left your confession in despair but have clung to the remedy God has provided. He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy Prov 28:13, and If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. You have taken words with you and turned to the Lord saying Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously Hos 14:2, and God hears such prayers. We are thankful you have come in the only name by which we must be saved, for there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5.

We pray together with you now for that harvest you long for. All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous, yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby Heb 12:11. We ask the Father to complete that work in you, to train you by that discipline so that the peaceful fruit of righteousness and the quietness and confidence that comes from it Isa 32:17 may abound.

Father, we come before Your throne of grace together in Jesus name to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need Heb 4:16. We thank You that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is perfected in our weakness. We confess with our brother that we have often been swift to speak and swift to anger, that we have used the tongue which You gave to glorify You and edify others as an instrument of unrighteousness, speaking from pride and empty conceit, seeking our own interests rather than doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself Phil 2:3. Forgive us for the mixture of the flesh, for words spoken in anger and typed in haste that lacked love and did not achieve Your righteousness. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness as You have promised, and create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10.

Lord, we ask that You tame what we cannot tame. We cannot control the tongue on our own, but You can. We ask that You set a guard over our mouths and keep watch over the door of our lips Psalm 141:3, that our speech may always be with grace, seasoned with salt Col 4:6, and that gracious words and comforting words Zech 1:13 may come from us. Teach us to speak as You taught, for we remember that Jesus said He did not speak from Himself, but the Father who sent Him gave Him a commandment, what He should say and what He should speak John 12:49. Make us slow to anger and quick to hear, and help us to take the way of escape that You faithfully provide when we are tempted 1 Cor 10:13.

We thank You that You have not given us over to death though You have disciplined us severely Psalm 118:18, and that it was good for us to be afflicted that we might learn Your statutes Psalm 119:71. We thank You that our momentary light affliction is working for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory 2 Cor 4:17, and that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose Rom 8:28. Cause these trials to produce patience and proven character and hope that does not disappoint because Your love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit Rom 5:3-5, and bring us to that maturity where we lack nothing James 1:4.

We ask that You renew our minds Rom 12:2 and help us to walk just as He walked 1 John 2:6, to do no wrong 2 Cor 13:7, and to be conformed to the image of Your Son. We confess our sins to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed, for the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16. Let our prayers like Elijah's James 5:17 be effective, and let others assist us with prayers as You delivered before and will yet deliver 2 Cor 1:10-11. We cling to You who raises the dead 2 Cor 1:9, and we ask for an everlasting crown of life James 1:12 and to share in Your reign as we overcome Rev 3:21.

We receive Your forgiveness and Your cleansing now by faith, trusting that You who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ Phil 1:6, and we ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Mediator, amen.

We hear the honesty and humility in what you shared, and we thank you for bringing it so openly before the Lord. Wanting to be done with sin, especially in how we speak when we are hurt or angry, and grieving when we fall short, is a mark that God is at work in you. That struggle with the tongue is one so many believers know well, and it makes sense you feel it deeply.

What encouraged us is how you are already turning that weakness into a place to meet His grace. Confession is not just feeling sorry in the moment, it is a process that brings freedom. It starts with being honest with ourselves, then with God, and when needed with the person we have hurt, and that honesty is what allows real change to take root. Repentance is a change of direction, not just regret, and growth in holiness happens gradually as we keep abiding in Christ and participating with the Spirit's work day by day.

One simple next step that may help is to take Hosea's picture literally of taking words with you to the Lord. When anger or pride rises before you speak or type, pause to bring those words to Him first, and also consider inviting one trusted, mature believer to be someone you can confess to and pray with regularly so you are not carrying this alone.

Father, we thank You for Your mercy that meets us in our weakness. We ask You to cleanse, renew, and strengthen our brother as he walks with You, to guard his lips and shape his heart to be more like Jesus, and to bring that quiet harvest of righteousness and peace in Your time. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been read with care and with thanksgiving to God for the honesty and tenderness of conscience that appears in it. There is much to encourage you in what you have written, for you have taken the right path when you have taken words with you and turned to the Lord, asking Him to take away all iniquity and receive you graciously.

You have quoted it truly, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. The Lord did not remove the thorn at Paul's entreaty, but He gave what was better, His own sustaining grace and the resting of Christ's power upon a weak man. So you may indeed boast in weakness, not because weakness itself is lovely, but because it makes room for Christ's strength. When you are weak, then you are strong, for then you stand not in your own power to tame the tongue or to bridle anger, but in His.

You have felt what James teaches, that we all stumble in many ways, and if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man able also to bridle the whole body. And you have felt also the solemn word that follows, that no man can tame the tongue. This is true, and it is meant to drive us from self reliance. What is impossible with man is possible with God. He who made the tongue can govern it, and He does so not by a button pressed once for all, but by the ongoing work of grace, by the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, and by our daily participation as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

You desire to be slow to hear, quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, and this is the will of God. The anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore the remedy you have named is the true one. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He who covers his sin will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sin will find mercy. Your confession is to be presented first and fully to God. As the publican prayed, God be merciful to me a sinner, so let your confession be plain and full before Him who cannot be polluted by your iniquity and who delights to pardon. And as James exhorts, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed, not to pollute others with detail, but in humble honesty that the prayers of the righteous, which are powerful and effective, may bear you up.

Do not despise the discipline of the Lord. No chastening seems pleasant at the present, but grievous, yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Your affliction, as you have said, has been good for you that you might learn His statutes. He wounds that He may heal, and He perfects His saints through suffering, even as Christ our author and finisher was perfected through suffering to become the fountain of salvation to all who obey Him.

Therefore abide in Christ and let His words abide in you. There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Ask Him to renew your mind, to set a guard over your lips, to give you gracious and comforting words, and to make you quick to listen and slow to speak. Pray that by faith you may be made strong out of weakness, and that you may walk even as He walked, in love, in humility counting others more significant than yourself, and in truth.

We will pray for you to this end, that the Lord would keep you, cleanse you, establish you, and bring forth in you a harvest of righteousness and peace, and an everlasting quietness and confidence that comes from His presence. May He who is gracious and compassionate, who has helped you in times past, help you still, and cause you to rejoice even in trials, knowing that He works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

Father, hear this Your child who confesses unclean lips and a wandering heart. Forgive, cleanse, and heal according to Your promise in Christ. Give grace sufficient for this day, power perfected in weakness, and a tongue governed by Your Spirit, that with the calves of our lips we may offer praise and with our lives may show forth Your holiness. Grant perseverance, proven character, and hope that does not disappoint, until the crown of life is given. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is worthy, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been received with thankfulness, and your honest confession is precious in the sight of God. You have spoken truly about the weakness of the tongue and the quickness of anger, and you have taken the right remedy, to humble yourself, to confess, and to turn to the Lord who is gracious and compassionate.

The Lord said to Paul, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Therefore to boast in weakness is not to excuse sin, but to confess that without Christ we can do nothing, and with Him what is impossible with man becomes possible with God. No person can tame the tongue by his own strength, as James says, yet God can. He gave you a mouth and a tongue not to tear down but to give thanks to Him and to build up your neighbor. That is why the word says to speak only what is useful for building up, and to put a bridle on the tongue. When we learn to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger, we keep the measure that Christ Himself kept in sorrow, in suffering and in patience.

You have rightly seen that anger does not achieve the righteousness of God. Wrath makes the soul unfit for prayer or for wise speech. The Holy Spirit dwells not where wrath remains. Boldness in speaking the truth must be without harshness and without passion, with gentleness and grief for others rather than with pride or empty conceit. To consider others more important than yourself and to prefer their good, as Christ did in His humility, is the more excellent way, for even if one had all gifts and knowledge without love, it would be nothing.

God has not given you over to death, but has disciplined you as a Father, because He loves you. That discipline is not pleasant at present, but afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Your trials, when received with patience and faith, transfer hope from yourself to Him who raises the dead, and they work perseverance, proven character and hope that does not disappoint. From weakness, by faith, we are made strong, not by our own power but by His.

Continue then in what you have begun. Come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and help in time of need. Confess your sins to God, for He is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse from all unrighteousness, and as you are taught, confess to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. Renew your mind daily, abide in Christ and in His words, and walk as He walked. Use the tongue as an instrument of righteousness, to render the calves of your lips in thanksgiving and to speak gracious, comforting words as the Lord Himself speaks.

May the Lord hear your prayer, forgive your sin, heal your heart and train you through every hardship to bear a harvest of righteousness and peace. May He grant you grace to rejoice even in affliction, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him, and that the crown of life is promised to those who persevere. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ alone, the one Mediator between God and man, the author and perfecter of our salvation, through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.

Your honest and humble confession before the Lord is heard, and it is right to bring it to Him just as you have. The Scriptures you have set your heart on point to the very answer you need.

The Lord told the apostle Paul that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness. That is why Paul could say he would boast gladly in his weaknesses, in insults and hardships and difficulties, so that the power of Christ might rest upon him. When we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in Him. Your sense of weakness, especially in the area of the tongue and of anger, is not a place for despair but a place for His strength to be displayed. By faith, as Hebrews says, those who were weak were made strong, and what is impossible with man is possible with God.

James warns us plainly about the tongue. It is a small member, yet it boasts great things. It is like a fire that can set a whole forest ablaze, a world of unrighteousness that can defile the whole body and set the course of life on fire. With the same tongue we bless God the Father, which is its highest and best use, to give praise and thanks and comfort and hope, and yet with that same tongue we can curse people who are made in the likeness of God. That inconsistency should not be. Scripture is honest that no person on his own can tame the tongue. It is restless and full of deadly poison. That is why your confession is so important. You have seen that anger and pride and self seeking quickly corrupt our words, and that the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. God calls us to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger, for the one who is slow to anger quiets strife and makes peace.

God has provided the remedy you named. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. We are invited to come with confidence to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace in time of need. Part of that healing comes as we confess our sins to one another and pray for one another, for the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Sanctification is both a work God has done and a work He continues to do as we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, working out what He works in us, being renewed in our minds and learning to walk as Jesus walked.

The trials and discipline you have felt are not pleasant in the present. They feel like grief and not joy. But afterward, for those who are trained by it, God promises a harvest. It yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness, patience that leads to maturity, proven character and a hope that does not disappoint, because His intention is to work all things together for good for those who love Him. He is gracious and compassionate, and even as He perfected His own Son through suffering to become the author of our salvation, He is perfecting you.

So continue to abide in Christ and in His words. Ask Him not only for forgiveness but for that gracious and comforting speech that comes from Him, to know what to say and how to say it in a way that builds up and gives grace to those who hear. Ask to be so yielded to the Spirit that He does for you what you cannot do for yourself, to bring the tongue under His control and to make your words healing and life giving.

May the Lord grant you a renewed mind, a guarded tongue, a heart slow to anger, and a life that increasingly reflects His holiness by faith. May He cleanse you, strengthen you in your weakness, and cause your life and your lips to bear that peaceful harvest of righteousness for His glory, in the name of Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and man, through whom alone we are saved.
