Poverty Their hearts are hardened

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I’m in poverty and feeling low. I’m in need of a job but don’t have recommendations due to false accusation at the last place where I worked and my very abrupt departure out of a den of vipers. I ask in Jesus name for vindication so that I can get a job. All of the false accusers to be compelled to speak the truth about my work ethic so that I can secure a job. May they abandon the lies they told about me. I can’t go back to “Egypt” because “Pharaohs” (the leaders) and their “army” (former colleagues) hearts are hardened like cement. Oh dear Lord have mercy on me!!

We hear the cry of your heart, and we stand with you in this season of trial, lifting your burdens before the Lord who sees all and knows all. You have come to the right place—for our God is a God of justice, a defender of the oppressed, and a provider for His children. You have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, and it is by that mighty name alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing He intercedes for us.

The hardness of heart you describe among your former colleagues and leaders is not unfamiliar to Scripture. Just as Pharaoh’s heart was hardened in Exodus, so too can the hearts of men become calloused by sin, pride, and deception. But take heart—God is not limited by the stubbornness of men. He turned the heart of Pharaoh to His purposes, and He can turn the hearts of those who have wronged you. The Lord declares in **Proverbs 21:1**, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* Though they have acted wickedly, their hearts are still under His sovereignty. We pray that God would break through their hardness, not for their sake alone, but for the sake of His justice and your vindication.

You have been wronged, and the Lord sees it. False accusations are an abomination to Him, for **Proverbs 6:16-19** tells us that *"there are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."* The lies spoken against you are an affront to His righteousness, and He will not leave them unaddressed. We pray that the Lord would expose every falsehood, compelling those who have accused you to speak the truth—whether through conviction, circumstance, or the testimony of others. May their tongues be silenced in their deceit, and may your name be cleared as Joseph’s was after his false imprisonment.

Yet even as we pray for vindication, we must also guard our hearts against bitterness. **Hebrews 12:15** warns us to *"be careful that no one falls short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness, springing up, troubles you, and many be defiled by it."* The pain of injustice can fester into resentment if we do not surrender it to the Lord daily. You have already shown wisdom in recognizing the "den of vipers" for what it was and removing yourself from it. Now, trust that God is leading you out of this "Egypt"—this place of bondage—and into a land of promise. He did not deliver Israel only to leave them wandering; He has a purpose and a plan for you, even in this wilderness season.

As for your need for work, we claim **Philippians 4:19** over you: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* The false accusations may have closed one door, but God is opening another. He is not limited by the opinions of men or the schemes of the enemy. We pray that He would provide a job for you—not just any job, but one that aligns with His will, where you are valued, respected, and able to use your gifts for His glory. May He go before you, preparing the way, and may He give you favor with those in authority. Remember the words of **Psalm 37:23-24**: *"A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand."*

Finally, we exhort you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. In times of waiting, it is easy to grow weary, but **Isaiah 40:31** promises that *"those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* This season is not forever. God is refining you, strengthening you, and preparing you for what lies ahead. Do not return to "Egypt" in your heart or mind—whether through fear, despair, or the temptation to trust in your own strength. The Lord is your provider, your vindicator, and your deliverer.

**Our Prayer for You:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who is weary, wronged, and in need. Lord, You are a God of justice, and we ask that You would rise up on their behalf. Expose every lie that has been spoken against them. Turn the hearts of their accusers as rivers of water, compelling them to speak the truth. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (**Isaiah 54:17**). Vindicate them, O Lord, not for their glory, but for Yours—that Your righteousness may be displayed.

Father, we pray for provision. Open doors that no man can shut (**Revelation 3:8**). Lead them to a job where they are treated with dignity, where their skills are used for Your kingdom, and where they can flourish. Remove every obstacle—the false accusations, the hardened hearts, the closed doors—and make a way where there seems to be no way. You fed Elijah by the brook and provided manna in the wilderness; we trust You to provide for Your child now.

Guard their heart, Lord, from bitterness and despair. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (**Philippians 4:7**). Remind them that You are their shepherd, and they shall lack nothing (**Psalm 23:1**). Strengthen their faith as they wait on You. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that they may look back and say, *"The Lord has done great things for me!"*

We rebuke every spirit of poverty, shame, and rejection in the name of Jesus. We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Christ (**Romans 8:37**), and that no scheme of the enemy will prevail against them. Lord, let Your will be done in their life, and let Your name be glorified through their story.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap, lifting your burdens to the Lord who sees all and knows all. We're claiming Psalm 34:18 over you, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees your pain, He knows your need, and He's moving on your behalf.

We're praying for vindication, that the truth would be revealed, and those who have wronged you would be compelled to speak it. We're asking God to soften the hearts of your former colleagues and leaders, turning them to His purposes, just as He did with Pharaoh. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over them, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

We're also praying for provision. We're claiming Philippians 4:19 over you, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." We're asking God to open doors that no man can shut, leading you to a job where you're valued, respected, and able to use your gifts for His glory.

And finally, we're encouraging you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We're reminding you of His promise in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Trust that He's leading you out of this wilderness season and into a land of promise.

Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep praying. We're with you every step of the way.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your burdens before the Lord in prayer. Your heartfelt cry has moved us, and we have been earnestly interceding for you—asking God to open doors of employment, to soften hardened hearts, and to bring truth and vindication in His perfect timing. The weight of false accusations and financial struggle is heavy, but we take comfort in knowing that our Lord sees your faithfulness and hears your pleas.

If God has already begun to move in this situation—whether through a new job opportunity, a restored reputation, or unexpected provision—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could encourage others who are walking through similar valleys. If the answer still tarries, do not lose heart. We invite you to repost your request so that we may continue to stand with you in prayer, believing that God is working even when we cannot yet see the fruit.

Remember, just as God delivered His people from Pharaoh’s hardened heart, He is able to make a way for you where there seems to be no way. Keep trusting in His promises, and may He fill you with His peace as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We are praying in Jesus’ Name.
