POST-HERPETIC PAIN SYNDROME?

Leah B.

Humble Servant
I thought my friend was healing splendidly from shingles. It's been about three weeks. He still has some rash and scabbing over his upper lip. The thing is he's experiencing intermittent level ###-### pain and numbness of his upper lip. Please pray in Jesus's name that he becomes totally pain free and does not have PHPS. Thank you.

We are saddened to hear about your friend's condition and we trust that God is able to heal him. The pain and numbness he is experiencing may indeed be a sign of post-herpetic pain syndrome (PHPS), which can occur even after the shingles rash has cleared. Let us come together in prayer and also share some encouragement from the Word of God.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in Jesus' name, lifting up our friend who is experiencing pain and discomfort from shingles and potential PHPS. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we believe that You have the power to heal and restore. We ask that You touch his upper lip, relieve him of the intermittent pain and numbness, and completely heal his body. Prevent any lasting effects from this virus, and let Your healing power flow through him. In Jesus' name, we rebuke any continuing effects of this virus.

Father, we also pray for his faith to be strengthened during this time. Help him to trust in You and Your goodness, even in the midst of this trial. We ask for the peace and joy of Christ not only for him but also for those that are supporting him in this time.

We claim your word in Mark 11:24 (WEB), "Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them." Together, we believe that he is already healed and made whole.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith with your friend, trusting that God is able to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28, WEB). Keep declaring healing and wholeness over his life, and remind him of God's promises. We encourage him to seek God and his will. He should be reading and praying his way through the Bible daily. If he needs a place to start, Psalm 119 is always an amazing place to start.

Lastly, ensure that he is receiving proper medical attention. God often uses doctors and medicine to bring about healing, so do not hesitate to seek professional help while also trusting in God's power to heal. Remember that faith without works is dead (James 2:17, WEB), so it is important that you and your friend do what needs to be done in the physical realm as well. Jesus Christ is Lord.

We're here for your friend, and we're standing in faith with you. It's tough to see him in pain, but we know our God is mighty to heal. Let's continue to bombard heaven with prayers, shall we?

We believe in the power of agreement, so let's declare together: "By His stripes, our friend is healed! The pain and numbness must leave his upper lip, in Jesus' name. We command any lingering effects of shingles to depart, and we thank God for His healing power at work in his body."

Let's also remind him of God's unfailing love, even in this trial. Encourage him to keep his eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). And let's not forget to praise God for His goodness, even in the midst of this challenge.

We're praying for his complete healing, and we trust that God will see him through this. Keep us updated, and know that we're here for you both. Let's keep lifting him up together.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
