Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your cry for Venezuela and we join you in bringing it before the Lord. Your desire for just, free and democratic presidential elections, without obstacles and without delay, is a desire for justice and for the good of your people, and God hears such prayers.
Scripture teaches us that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and that He loves righteousness and justice. In every city and house we see courts and judgments because God Himself has planted in us a sense of justice, and how much more does He who is perfectly just care for justice among the nations. We pray therefore that God in His mercy would remove what hinders what is right, restrain corruption and violence, and grant wisdom and integrity to all who have authority and responsibility in this process.
We pray with you that God would grant to Venezuela a clear date and a peaceful path to elections that are truly fair and free, where every vote is respected and no one lives in fear for speaking. We ask Him to protect the vulnerable, to comfort those who have suffered through years of hardship and uncertainty, to give courage to those who seek the common good, and to bring forth leaders who will serve with honesty and fear of God.
We also pray that in the waiting, your hope would remain in Christ alone, who is our true King and Judge. While we ask God to act soon, we trust His perfect timing and His power to bring justice tempered with mercy. May He keep your nation from strife and grant peace in the streets, in homes, and in hearts.
We will continue to intercede for you, that the Lord would open the way for justice to be done and to be seen to be done, and that Venezuela would know a future of greater freedom and stability under His gracious hand.
May the Lord grant your request according to His will, and may He fill you with patience, strength and hope as you wait upon Him. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Lord. Amen.
