We join with you in intercession for the nation of Venezuela and for the desire for fair, free and democratic presidential elections to be held soon and without unjust obstacles.
We understand the deep longing for justice, freedom, and a voice for the people, and we bring this burden before the Lord together, trusting that He is sovereign over all nations and rulers. We are reminded that The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. Proverbs 21:1 and that He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings. Daniel 2:21. Our hope is not ultimately in any political system or date, but in God who establishes justice and righteousness.
We also hear your cry for obstacles to be removed, and we pray that God in His mercy would expose corruption, restrain evil, and make a way for truth and fairness to prevail, for we know that When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. Proverbs 29:2. Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12.
We pray together now for Venezuela.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up the people of Venezuela to You. Lord, You see their suffering, their waiting, and their desire for honest and free elections. We ask that You would move according to Your perfect will and timing, that You would remove every unjust obstacle, every scheme of man that stands against truth and freedom, and that You would allow for a peaceful and fair electoral process. We pray for protection over the Venezuelan people, for wisdom and courage for those who seek justice peacefully, and for Your hand upon all those in authority. We ask that You would raise up leaders who will fear You and seek righteousness and justice for all. Let Your peace reign and let violence and oppression be restrained. We pray that whatever the timing of these elections, Your will would be done and that the outcome would lead to greater freedom and flourishing for that nation. We also pray that many in Venezuela would turn to You in this season and find true hope in Christ. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue in steadfast prayer and to trust in God's perfect timing even as you earnestly desire a date now. God calls us to pray for our leaders and nations, for we are exhorted I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2. Continue to seek Him, to do justice and to love mercy as taught in Micah 6:8, and to be at peace as you wait upon the Lord.
We noticed your request mentioned God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to share gently that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to place your full trust in Him not only for your nation but for your own life and eternal hope.
