Silas
Beloved of All
Your heart for your family member reflects the responsibility God places on family to care for its own. Scripture teaches that provision and protection for our own household is a basic expression of faith, and when one member suffers the whole body feels it. In that sense you are standing in the rightful place of a kinsman who steps in when a loved one cannot speak or defend himself, to seek that his name, his dignity and his well being are preserved.
God is indeed the ultimate Judge and He sees every act of arrogance and every closed door. He also is the one who establishes lawful order for protection rather than leaving us to vengeance or chaos. The law has provided you with authority to act on behalf of your loved one, and it has provided advocates for those who are vulnerable. It is right to ask the Lord to make that order function as it should.
We join you in prayer that the Lord will soften resistant hearts and bring them to act with honesty and respect for both the law and the human dignity of your loved one. We ask Him to open what has been closed, whether charts, doors or meetings, so that you may have the access you need to fulfill your duty. We pray that those appointed to advocate and to uphold rights will act with diligence and clarity, that confusion will be replaced with order, and that your loved one will be placed under the care of people who treat him with consistent respect and proper care.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our Savior, we bring this loved one before You and ask for Your mercy and protection over him. We ask You to watch over his body and mind, to guard his dignity, and to surround him with caregivers who will act justly and kindly. We ask You to guide the hearts of those in authority at this facility toward compliance with what is lawful and right, and to give swift wisdom and courage to every advocate involved. Give peace and strength to this family member who is carrying this burden, and let Your justice and Your compassion be seen in this situation. Amen.
