Poor treatment, neglect

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord God, You are the ultimate Judge, and You see the arrogance and defiance of this facility. They are ignoring the legal authority You have placed in my hands to protect my family member. I ask You to supernaturally break down these walls of resistance today, and silently command their hearts to comply. Let every medical chart, every door, and every treatment meeting be opened to me immediately. I pray that the state advocates and Disability Rights will move swiftly to back me up, bring order to this chaos, and place my loved one under the care of people who respect both the law and his human dignity. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord and we stand with you in prayer for your loved one and for justice and mercy to prevail in this facility.

We hear your cry for protection and dignity for your family member and we agree that our God sees all and He is the defender of the vulnerable. He commands us to defend the weak and to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. As it is written, Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked Psalm 82:3-4 and Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow Isaiah 1:17. We also take comfort that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.

We also recognize the legal authority that has been entrusted to you and we pray that those in authority over this facility will respect it, for Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1. And we know that The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1, so we ask God to supernaturally soften and turn the hearts of the staff, administrators, and decision makers toward compliance, truth, and compassionate care.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and advocate. We thank You that You see this situation fully, every chart, every door that has been closed, every meeting that has been denied, and every act of neglect or arrogance. Lord, You are the ultimate Judge who loves justice and mercy. We ask You to break down these walls of resistance and to command hearts to act with integrity, humility, and respect for the law and for the human dignity of this precious loved one made in Your image. We ask You to open every door that needs to be opened, to grant full and rightful access to medical information and care decisions, and to let Your order replace this chaos. We lift up the state advocates and Disability Rights and every person in a position to help, and we pray You will move them to act swiftly, decisively, and effectively on behalf of this family. Place this loved one under the care of people who will honor both the law and his God given worth, who will treat him with gentleness, attentiveness, and true professional care. Give our dear fellow advocate Your wisdom, strength, peace that surpasses all understanding, and protection from discouragement and exhaustion. Help them to continue to contend for what is right with grace and with truth, reflecting Christ even under pressure, and to document all things faithfully while trusting You to be their vindication. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified through a just and merciful outcome. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in both firmness and Christlike gentleness as you advocate. Keep careful records of every interaction, keep pressing through the proper legal and advocacy channels God has provided, and continue to commit each step to the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to hear, He will not forsake the oppressed, and He will give you wisdom for each conversation and decision. We are trusting with you that the Lord will bring order, open doors, and surround your loved one with respectful and dignified care.

We hear how heavy this is to watch someone you love not receive the dignified care he deserves, and to feel shut out when you carry the legal responsibility to protect him. Wanting charts, doors and meetings opened to you comes from love and stewardship, and it is understandable to feel worn down when you meet resistance.

We are praying for you as you carry this advocacy role. One thing that often helps when systems feel stuck is steady, documented advocacy. Keeping a simple written record of when you asked, who you spoke with, what was requested and what was denied, and having your legal paperwork ready to share in writing, gives outside advocates a clear picture to act on. Following up a phone call with a brief, respectful note creates that record and can keep communication calmer, which tends to make those with the power to resolve things more willing to work with you. These protection and advocacy programs exist specifically to support people with disabilities and their families when bureaucracy stalls, so reaching out to your state's Disability Rights program and, if possible, bringing a trusted advocate or attorney with you to meetings can help keep the focus on your loved one's safety and care.

Father, we lift this loved one to You and ask for his safety and for care that honors his dignity. Give wisdom, endurance and clarity to the one advocating for him, guide the staff and advocates involved toward what is just and compassionate, and lead the next steps according to Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and the sorrow and holy jealousy you feel for your loved one is not hidden from the Lord. He is indeed the righteous Judge who sees all arrogance that exalts itself and who lifts the poor from the dunghill while He casts down the mighty from their seats of power. Nothing that concerns the vulnerable and the neglected escapes His eye, for whether one member suffers, all suffer with it, and much more does the Head feel the pain of the weakest member.

We join you in asking the Lord to break down every wall of resistance that stands against what is lawful and right and to turn hearts that have grown hard or defiant toward that which is just and merciful. We pray that He who has ordained lawful authority for the protection of the helpless would cause that authority to be honored, that every needful door would be opened, every chart and record made accessible, and every counsel concerning care conducted with openness, honesty and true dignity.

We ask also that the Lord would move swiftly through those He has appointed as advocates and helpers in the land, that Disability Rights and all who are charged to defend the cause of the afflicted would act with diligence, clarity and strength, bringing order where there is confusion and securing for your loved one care that respects both the law and the precious humanity God has given him.

Continue to wait upon the Lord in prayer and to walk in the appointed ways of faithfulness, keeping near to His Word and pleading His promises, for He has said He will give His angels charge over His people to keep them. May He grant you wisdom, patience and perseverance in this trial, and may He comfort your loved one with His presence, guarding him from neglect and restoring to him all needful care.

We commend you both to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father, and we pray that His will be done and His name glorified even in this hard place. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
